"It's not your fault." Xiao reminded, his breathing was slow.
Eyes dared to close shut, he watched as Aether's figure hovered from above. The traveler bit his lip, tears sliding down his face. Through the bamboo trees the moon's light hit the floor in a sliver. The wood floor was cold against Xiao's limbs. Ignoring the many injuries he had sustained since the last battle.

"Is it so bad that I want to be selfish for once?"
Aether sniffled, using his hands to hide the tears. "Selfish..."

"I know you wanted to be left alone. But I begged for you to join me on this mission. I didn't know, I didn't know so many people relied on you. You got injured, but continued to follow me. I was selfish," Aether stopped talking, glancing at the Adeptus.

"Xiao?"
The blond called out, but Xiao had already slipped away.
