Was I Really About To Kiss Him?

2 months later...

Raven

Kori's very pushy. But you know what? She's cool enough. So are Dick and Victor. We've started hanging out the past couple months, with Garfield as well. Though he's been spending a lot of time with this Terra chick lately. Right now, I'm meeting up with the Kori, Victor, and Dick at the school cafeteria. As I near the school, I see a familiar blonde holding some random dude's hand, dragging him around the corner.

Was that...? Yep. It's fucking Terra. I knew it.

I met her a couple of times, she seems real bitchy. She barely acknowledged our existence when Gar introduced her to us. I get to the cafeteria and spot Kori's red hair as she waves me over,

"Hello, friend Raven!" Kori beams, giving me a bone crushing hug,

"Ah! Hey, Kori. Can you let go please?"

I am not a hugger.

Dick and Victor greet me as well as I sit down,

"Where's Gar?" Dick asks,

"How would I know?" I ask, taking my wallet out of my bag, intending to buy some nachos,

"You're his roommate?" Victor explains,

"Right," I chuckle, "Haven't seen him since he left for class," I say, walking away to the nacho stall.

I come back to Victor and Dick arguing about some video game while Kori happily drank her boba, scrolling on her phone,

"Hey, this is kinda weird," I say as I spot Terra coming into the cafeteria, joining her group of bitches, looking really disheveled.

Subtle. Bitch.

"What is, Raven?" Kori asks,

"I'm pretty sure Terra doesn't really like Garfield," I say.

They all stare at me for awhile before they look to each other, a giant grin on their faces,

"What?" I ask, sighing,

"Jealous, Rae-Rae?" Victor asks, raising his eyebrows up and down,

"Ew, no! I just..."

Maybe I shouldn't say anything until I'm sure...

"Just what?" Dick smirks,

"I just think she's bad for him, okay? She's real bitchy. Barely acknowledging us when Garfield brings her around,"

"Ooh, I had no idea you were in love with the Garfield, friend Raven," Kori exclaims, smiling wildly and clapping her hands like a kid,

Ewww!

"I... am not... in love with Garfield!" I snap,

"Oooo-kayyyy," Victor says,

Ughhhh!!! I'm just watching out for my friend!

"And so she's not very friendly, maybe she's shy? You weren't that talkative to us at first either," Dick says nonchalantly,

"That's different," I wave him off,

"How so?" Kori asks,

"Well, does Terra seem like the shy type?" I ask as we all look to her with her friends, laughing loudly and just making her presence known in general. As if everyone in the room should hear about how much fun she's having at all times,

"Bitch," I mutter,

"Jealous,"

"Jellyyy,"

"The jealous,"

Victor, Dick, and Kori say at the same time.

I groan in frustration,

"You guys suck,"

That makes them laugh as Victor pats me on my shoulder,

"Don't worry about it too much, Raven. I'm sure Garfield will realise that he should be with you instead," he jokes, making the others laugh,

I look at all of them blankly,

"I hate you all," I say, taking my book out of my bag, proceeding to eat my nachos as I read.

I'm playing chess with Garfield right now. He was bored and asked me if I liked any board games, to which I said I used to play a lot of chess. He asked me to teach him, which I did, but now he's being such a pain,

"Come oooon, make your move already, dude!"

I roll my eyes, making my move. I sip my tea afterwards and almost spit it out,

"Did you put rootbeer in my tea cup?" I ask, disgusted,

"It's better than that chameleon tea you're always drinking, and this game is so boring!" he exclaims dramatically.

I sigh,

"It's chamomile. And you're mistaken, chess is-"

"Boring! Boring, boring boring,"

"Ugh, this was a mistake, I'm gonna read instead," I say, picking up my book and settling on the couch,

"Whatevs, dude. I'm gonna go meet up with Terra anyways," he says, getting up from the floor,

" Ew," I mutter, not looking up from my book, making Gar chuckle,

"See ya later, alligator!" he exclaims, slamming the door shut behind him,

"I hope not!" I yell back, fully aware that he's already left.

Later that day, I get home pretty late from a trip to the mall with Kori and Victor. Dick was busy helping his dad with work for hid company. I didn't really wanna come but those two idiots bribed me with free food. Obviously I had to take it, so I brought my book and trudged beside them as they shopped. When I walk through the front door, I see Garfield, in the balcony, his back turned to me as he smokes a cigarette. I go out there to join him. I light up my cigarette and settle beside Gar before he notices me,

"Oh, hey, Rae," he says,

"Hey," I greet back,

"How was the mall with Vic and Kori?" he asks,

"Good, I guess. Free food and time to read, what's not to like?"

He scoffs,

"What?"

"Only you would go to the mall to read a book," I chuckle lightly at that, nudging his shoulder with my own,

"How was your date?" I ask after a few minutes, taking a drag from my cigarette,

"Eh, Terra told me it's over,"

Umm, bitch?

"Oh... why?"

"She said that she was only using me to make her ex jealous. It worked I guess," he shrugs.

I fucking knew it. Bitch.

"I'm sorry," I say, rubbing a comforting hand on his arm,

"It's fine. I wanted it to work with her, but I just couldn't get past how she treats you guys,"

"Then why stay? She doesn't really have any other redeeming qualities," I chuckle as he does as well,

"She was hot," he shrugs as I laugh once more,

"Looks aren't everything, Gar,"

He looks at me for awhile before he speaks up,

"No... they're not,"

I stare back at him, our faces nearing each other. Before anything can happen, his phone rings, making us both jump at the noise,

"Sorry, gotta take this, it's my mom,"

"Go ahead," I say, clearing my throat,

"Yeah, mom?" he says, going back inside.

I pull my hood over my head, thinking back to what just almost happened.

Was he really about to.... kiss me....? Was I really about to kiss him?
