In defense of Serena's kiss:

Okay...I am not an amourshipper, but let me give my two cents on this. 

I have heard salty (pokeshippers, firstfriendshippers, just anti-amourshippers in general) say that Serena's kiss doesn't matter, because Ash has been kissed before by Melody, Latias/Bianca, some people rumor May kissed him (that was fanmade btw), and even Team Rocket has kissed Ash. Therefore Serena's kiss doesn't matter, and it is no different from any other kiss Ash has received...

I am here to say that her kiss did matter, it mattered so much more than any of the other kisses above. It mattered more than Misty slapping Ash, Ash accidently grabbing Goh's butt, it mattered more than anything else. 

First things first. Melody literally kissed Ash right when she met him (I believe...correct me if I'm wrong), and she may have had a slight crush on him, but she was never a companion of his and didn't know him for very long. So sure, she had romantic feelings for Ash, but Ash did not feel the same. 

Second...Altoshipping is obviously Latias not Bianca. Bianca was not interested in Ash and Latias was. Btw shipping a human with a pokemon is gross. Enough said here...

Let me repeat...May did NOT kiss Ash. That was not canon to the anime, and that was a fanmade thing.

Lastly, Team Rocket obviously does not have romantic feelings for Ash...that's messed up...

So not only did Serena have genuine romantic feelings for Ash, she was also his friend and companion and she had known him for a long time. Ash also had feelings for her, and his eyes sparkled and he smiled, and they told each other "thank you". 

At the end of the day, it wasn't only that kiss that made amourshipping what it is. It has so many precious moments that make it a special (very canon) ship. But I just thought the salty shippers needed some sense smacked in their darn heads.
