"Can you stop crying, please?" Said the young Han to the girl opposing him with a soft tone. "I cannot handle those tears."
The girl nodded while sniffling. She was looking down, not daring to face him. He was standing close to her with his hands resting on her shoulders. He was trying to calm her down when he didn't seem to be calm himself. He looked like he was fighting his own tears but he did his best in pushing them away. He moved his hands up, reaching her cherry damp cheeks. He wiped the tears gently before he lifts her head up to finally meets her gaze.
"I will not take long, I promise. I promise you that I will do my best to fulfill those promises. I will come for you in the shape that would make your father has no option other than accepting me as your spouse." He said assuringly while rubbing circles with his thumb to her cheeks. "Just wait for me."
"I will. I will wait for you, I promise. I will not ever forget you, Han. Ever."
Han smiled at her warmly before pulling her in an innocent hug. One of his hands rested on her back while the other started caressing her hair. He rested his chin on the top of her head as she clasped her hands around his torso.
"I never thought that the summer would be that short for us." He almost whispered.
"Do not forget me, please." She pleaded.
"That would never happen. Even if death tears us apart, I would never forget you, Anastasia."
I watched the scene getting changed ahead of me, replaced by darkness. The darkness that always surrounds me before I open my eyes to start my day after one of those dreams that I became used to.
I let my heavy eyelids unseal. My eyelashes felt heavy and a little sticky. I brought my hand to my eyes to rub them and push the sleepiness away just to be met by wetness. I lifted my upper body off the mattress while still rubbing my damp face. That was when I realized I was crying during my sleep.
I reluctantly pushed the covers away and got to my feet. I passed by the mirror to find that my face was a wet mess. I left my room to the bathroom to start my morning routine before I go downstairs to get my daily breakfast.

"You are finally awake." I heard Han's voice coming from the living room that I was sure came exactly from the armchair next to the fireplace. "I thought you were missing your work for the day." He said and I could sense his voice coming closer.
I dropped the milk box on the counter. I really wasn't in the mood that day and I knew by heart from his tone that he was already prepared to nag and tease me or even give me a lecture like any typical grandpa. "Late in my days, people would get up by dawn to start work." He stated from behind me as he made it to the kitchen.
"That was when people used to work for Japanese colonizers." I snapped at him.
I pressed my two hands to the counter and sighed. I was having a terrible headache since I woke up and I guess that was because of crying while sleeping. I gave up on my breakfast, grabbed the milk box to place it in the fridge again, and turned to walk out of the kitchen.
