"I believe that is it."
"W-What? What are you talking about?" Han questioned.
He was standing in the middle of his living room, looking at Anastasia who was sitting on the couch while having her head hanging low. Even without looking at her face, it was obvious that she was crying. You could tell that from the tear drops staining her sunflower yellow dress and the sniffles that could be heard across the room.
Han walked towards her, then crouched down to be at her level. He hesitantly reached his hands out for hers that were shaking. He held them both softly and lowered his face to be able to look at hers that she was trying her best to hide from his gaze.
"Ana? Look at me. Please." He said softly but the girl didn't give him what he wanted. "This cannot be true. It is a joke, right? This cannot be happening."
"I apologize, Han. This is the best I can do for you." She said between the sniffles.
By that, she wasn't the only one crying. Han's eyes were glistening with tears already and his voice became shaky and dull. He was fighting his tears. "Please, Ana. Do not. I beg you." He pleaded. He was still on his knees, holding her hands tightly as if he was afraid to let go. "I cannot live without you."
"And I cannot live in a world you are not in. Father would hurt you. I cannot allow that." She almost whispered.
"Then let's try to convince him or even... or even escape all of this an-"
"It is already late." She cut him. "This is the last time I would be allowed out. He let me go for the last time to bid my goodbyes for you."
"No, No. Pleas-"
He was already sobbing. I could sense it from her look that she was hurt too as much as he was. Before everything could go even more dramatic, she moved closer to his face, wiped his streaming tears with her hands then leaned in to plant a soft kiss on his cheek.
"I have to leave. My escort is already here." She said softly.
"E-Escort?" Han questioned.
"Yes. He did not approve my leave without him escorting me."
Anastasia gently pushed his hands away from her lap and stood up, breaking the contact between their bodies. Han quickly stood up with her and before she takes any step away from him, he pulled her to his body to hug her with all the might he had.
"Please, Ana. Please." He pleaded again.
"I have to protect you, Han." She said softly and she slipped her hand up his back to pat it. "Do not forget that I loved you and only you. I will never love anyone else. But I guess we were not destined to be from the beginning." She pulled away and looked at his glossy eyes for one last time. "Do not wait for me because I will never come back. Goodbye, my love."
