What A Family

Part Three: Trust

Maya woke up that morning and immediately she felt . . .off.

She knew that it was probably this morning that Anti would have went back to Dark's to get her . . . only to discover . . . she wasn't. And what would Dark tell him?

Immediately, Maya felt sick at the thought. She knew what he would say. Seeing as Jackie was the last person Dark saw her with . . . . he'd probably tell Anti the Septics kidnapped her.

She wished she would have thought about that more the night before but she was more so worried about the Septics finding out who she really was and hurting her. But after talking to Jameson . . . maybe the others would be just as understanding?

But if that was the case, then wouldn't have Jameson blabbed to all of them last night without care? Maya was still unsure about all of them finding out.

She knew she had to get out of bed and confront them, though, so she got up and went to take a quick shower . . . only to realize she didn't have any clothes with her.

'Shit . . . I don't think some things through, huh? Dammit, I guess I'll just have to put on my clothes from yesterday'

Even though it grossed her out, she didn't really have much of a choice. When she was all finished, she left the room and found the others in the kitchen eating their breakfast.

"SHIT!" Chase shouted, making everyone freeze, "I totally forgot you were here! I'm so sorry!"

"Damn" Marvin chuckled, "So did I. Sorry, Maya!"

"Yes, one of us would have come and got you otherwise." Henrik sighed, "I sincerely apologize"

Maya shrugged, "It's okay! Where's Jameson and Jackie?"

"Jackie's training in the garage and Jameson went out to get more tea. Jackie was supposed to pick some up yesterday but . . you know" Marvin winked, "Oh well. How are you this morning?"

"I'm okay . . .I do miss my brother, though"

"Yeah, that sucks" Chase got her a plate and filled it up with eggs, bacon, toast and some breakfast potatoes, "Eat up, kid! We'll try and find your bro today!"

Her blood ran cold and she was pretty sure she paled, "Oh . . . great"

She ate in silence until Jameson returned from the store and the two of them shared a look.

But instead of bringing attention to it, Jameson just went to go fix up his tea.

Jackie came back in, drinking from his water bottle practically guzzling down from his hard workout, "Fuck . . .Alright! Maya, I know you probably don't wanna go out and maybe run into Dark but we should probably go find your brother. He's probably really missing you right now"

"I . . .. I mean you're not wrong." she agreed, "But could we maybe . . . hold off a little bit? If that's okay?"

They all stared at her confused and Marvin snorted, "Uh . . . why? I thought you were missing him?"

"I am . . I do. It's just . . . " she didn't know exactly how to say it so she wouldn't alert their suspicions, "He never lets me go anywhere or do anything. This is the first time I've been able to talk to other people besides him . . . go anywhere without him"

"Ah" Henrik nodded, "One of those"

"Huh?" Chase didn't get it, "Explain, doc?"

"Vell by vhat Maya is saying, I'm concluding that perhaps her brother is . . overprotective. A helicopter family member that restrains zhe other by incredible means to 'protect' them from zhe outside world"
