*Jen's POV*
I walked down the hall, looking for the room where Nina was. I finally found it. I knocked and a tall brunette woman opened the door. "You're Jennifer Morrison." She said with wide eyes. I smiled and nodded. "I'm Alison. How can I help you?" She said. "Are you Nina Foster's step mother?" I asked. She rolled her eyes. "For now. Soon, the little brat will be someone else's headache." She said. I raised an eyebrow. "Um. Is Nina in here?" I asked. "Yeah. Why?" She asked. "I need to talk with her." I said. She nodded and walked farther into the room. Then, Nina ran over to me and hugged me. I hugged her back. "We're about to leave." Alison said. I nodded. "Come with me." I said. Nina nodded and we walked towards Lana's room. "So, Nina, I talked to Lana. And we want to adopt you. Or, foster you until we can adopt you." I said. Nina stopped and looked up at me. "R-really?" She asked. I nodded and she hugged me. "Thank you." She said. I hugged her back and smiled. "So, you want to go talk with Lana?" I asked. She nodded and we walked towards Lana's room. As I opened the door, Nina ran past me and jumped in Lana's bed, hugging her. Lana wrapped her arms around her and smiled. I walked over and sat in the chair beside Lana's bed. "When can you guys start fostering me? Or adopt me." she said and looked from Lana to me. I smiled and so did Lana. "As soon as possible." I said. Nina smiled. Then, the doctor walked in. "Ms. Morrison.. It's time for you to leave." He said. I sighed and stood up. Nina hopped off the bed. I smiled at Lana and she smiled back. "I love you." I said. She nodded. "I love you too." She said. I leaned down and kissed her, hard. I pulled away and she frowned. "I'm going to miss you." She said and cupped my cheek with her hand. "I know baby girl. I'm going to miss you too." I said. "Jen.. We start shooting on Monday. What are we going to do? I'm not going to be there." Lana said, slightly freaking out. "Lana, baby, it's okay. I'll tell them that you're not going to be out of the hospital until Saturday. It's okay. Really." I said. She sighed and nodded. "I love you." I said. She smiled. "I love you too." She said and I kissed her lightly. Nina and I walked out of her room and we walked back to the room where Nina had been. Nina opened the door and Alison was standing there, waiting. "There you are. I've been calling you for like, 15 minutes." She said, angrily. "Uh, Alison. My girlfriend and I would like to foster Nina and possibly adopt her.." I said. She raised an eyebrow. "Well, good. Because she was just about to be sent to a group home. Have fun with her." Alison said and moved past us. Nina looked at me and smiled weakly. Then, a woman wearing a grey pantsuit and heels walked up. She smiled at me, then looked at Nina. "Nina, are you ready to go?" The woman asked. Nina looked up at me and frowned. I looked at the woman, then noticed the Child Protective Services name tag. "Um, Agent Smith, I already found a family who wants to foster me.." Nina said and looked at her. She raised an eyebrow. Then looked at me. "Hello, you're Jennifer Morrison, right?" She said with a smile. I nodded and shook her hand. "Jennifer and her girlfriend Lana want to foster me. Maybe even adopt me." Nina said. Agent Smith raised an eyebrow and looked at me. "Is that true?" She asked. "Yes ma'am." I said. She looked at Nina. "Well, Jennifer will have to come with me to fill out request forms." She said and looked at me. I nodded. "Is there someone you can stay with while Ms. Morrison and I go?" She asked. Nina looked up at me. "Maybe you can stay with Lana." I said. Both of them nodded and I walked over to Lana's doctor. "Hi Ms. Morrison." He said. I smiled. "Hi. Uh, can mine and Lana's daughter stay here with Lana while I go fill out some paperwork?" I asked. He raised an eyebrow. "We're adopting." I said. He nodded. "Well, as long as it doesn't take too long, that should be fine." He said. I smiled and walked away. "Alright. Nina's all set to stay with Lana for now. So, come on." I said and looked at Nina. She nodded and we walked towards Lana's room. I opened the door and Lana's face brightened up immediately. "Jen. Nina." She said and smiled. We smiled back. "Is it okay if I stay here with you while Jen goes to fill out the foster papers?" Nina asked and looked at Lana. "Call me mom. If you want." I said. Nina turned around and looked at me, tears welling up in her eyes. "I-I can?" She asked. I smiled and nodded. She hugged me tightly. I hugged her back and smiled. Lana smiled at us. "You can call me mom too." Lana said. I smiled even bigger. Nina turned around and looked at Lana. Lana smiled and Nina ran over and hugged her tightly. I smiled. "I'll be back in a little while to pick you up Nina." I said. Nina nodded. "I love you both." I said. "Love you too." Lana said. Nina stared at me. "You love me?" She asked. I nodded. "No one ever told me they loved me except my dad.." Nina said. I frowned. "Well, now you have two moms who love you very much." I said. She smiled. "I Uh.. I love you too." She said. I smiled and walked out of the room. "Let's go." I said. Agent Smith nodded. She drove me to the Department of Social Services and we walked in. We walked to an office and she sat behind a desk. I sat on the other side. "Ms. Morrison, are you and your girlfriend prepared to do anything for the well being of this child?" She asked. "Yes ma'am." I said. She started writing something down. "Okay. Now, I know that you and your girlfriend, Ms. Parrilla, are both actresses. So, you'll be on set a lot. Correct?" She asked. "Yes. That's correct." I said. "So, what would the schooling situation be?" She asked. "Well, if she wanted to be in public school, there's a great school right down the street from the set in Steveston. But, if she didn't want to be in public school, there's an on-set tutor that works with one of the younger actors and would be available to work with her." I said. She nodded. "What would the living situation be?" She asked. "She would be living with Lana and I." I said. She nodded again. After 2 hours, she was done asking questions and she actually cracked a smile. "Congratulations Ms. Morrison. It's a girl." She said. I laughed lightly. "You are now an adoptive mother of Nina Jade Foster. And Lana Parrilla is also." She said. I smiled brightly. "Thank you." I said. She nodded and I stood up. "I'll drive you back to the hospital." She said. I smiled. "Thanks." I said. We walked back to her car and got in. She drove to the hospital and I walked in. I walked to Lana's room and decided to give them a scare. I put on my best sad face and opened the door. Lana and Nina both looked at me. Their faces fell. "I-it wasn't approved." I said. They both looked devastated. "W-what? What am I going to do? Where am I going to go?" Nina asked. "I-I don't know." I said. Nina ran to me and hugged me tightly. I looked at Lana who looked sad. "But Uh.. You don't have to worry about going anywhere." I said. Lana looked at me and Nina pulled away. "It was approved. I was just messing around." I said with a wide smile. "Really?" She asked. I nodded. "Yes!" She shouted. I laughed lightly and Lana was just smiling. "Okay. Well, we have to go. I love you Lana. We'll see you soon. I'll call you later tonight baby girl." I said. Lana smiled. "I love you too." She said. I kissed her lightly, then Nina and I walked out. "So, kid. It's only 7:30. Do you want to do something? Go see a movie? I'm good with whatever." I said. She shrugged. My phone started vibrating and I checked it. Ginny's calling me? "Hello?" I asked. "Hey! Adam and Eddy want us all to meet on set tomorrow morning." She said. "What? But, I can't get there! We're still in New York." I said. "It's important." She said, then hung up. I raised an eyebrow, then Nina and I walked towards the car. "So, I have to go back to Canada tomorrow. You want to come?" I asked. She nodded. I smiled. "I can introduce you to the cast and stuff." I said. She smiled and nodded again. I drove towards the hotel and sighed. When we got there, I pulled my phone out and dialed Lana's number. "Hey babe." She said as she answered. I sighed. "Hey baby girl.. We need to talk." I said. "W-what's wrong?" She asked. "I have to leave for Canada tomorrow." I said. "So, I'm going to be alone?" She asked. "Yes. But, I can come back next Saturday to get you." I said. She sighed. "Okay. Promise we'll still talk everyday?" She said. "I promise." I said. "I love you." She said. I smiled. "I love you too." I said and she hung up. "Okay. Now, I have to call that agent and make sure you can come to Canada with me." I said. Nina nodded. I dialed her number. "Hello?" She said. "Hi. This is Jennifer Morrison. I have to go back to Canada. Is Nina allowed to go too?" I asked. "Yes. You are officially one of her mother's. You're only her foster mother, but you're working towards her adoption. So, yes." She said. I smiled. "Thank you." I said and she hung up. "Okay kid. Do you have any stuff we need to pick up?" I asked. She nodded. "I don't have much. I have like a suitcase. But, Alison sold all my stuff." She said and looked down. I sighed. "We'll buy you new stuff." I said. She looked up at me. "Really?" She asked. I nodded. "Thank you." She said. I smiled. "Of course." I said. "We'll go shopping in Canada tomorrow, after my meeting." I said. She nodded. "Okay. Let's go get your stuff, then we have to leave." I said. She nodded again. I packed all of mine and Lana's stuff, then we carried it to the car. Nina got in the passenger side and I got in the driver's side. I drove to the address Nina gave me and she sighed as we pulled up. We both got out and walked to the door. She pulled out her key, then unlocked the door. We walked in and walked up a flight of stairs. We walked to a room and when she opened the door, I creased my eyebrows together. There's a bed and a dresser. But that's it. "You lived in here?" I asked. She nodded. She pulled out a suitcase and began packing clothes into it. Her clothes filled up 2 suitcases, then she took the blanket off the bed and folded it and put it on the top of her clothes, then zipped the suitcase. I carried both of the suitcases to the car and we got in. "Is it normal for Alison not to be home at night?" I asked. She nodded. "She would cheat on my dad and stuff." She said. I sighed. "I'm sorry kid." I said. She shrugged. I drove towards the airport. When we got there, I turned in the key to the rental car and we got all the bags. We went to the front desk and bought our tickets, went through security, then went straight to the plane. We boarded and Nina looked around. "I've never been on a plane before.." She said. I smiled. "You won't even know you're flying." I said. She nodded. First class is good if you've never flown before because it's really quiet and calm. She sat back in her seat and sighed. "You okay?" I asked. She nodded and closed her eyes. "I just... This is scary." She said. I smiled. "It'll get easier. You might want to sleep now because we won't get to Canada until around 2 am." I said. She nodded and breathed heavily. This will be fun.
