myoui mina (twice)
-
It was another long, busy day at the corporation for the woman with the sleek, jet-black hair. "Sorry, I'm late boss, I had a few things to catch up on before I came in." The woman with said jet-black hair spun in her chair towards the voice. "It's alright, remind me again. What is your name?"
"Son, Son Chaeyoung." The woman nodded, "Where are the papers I had asked for, Chaeyoung?" The mentioned woman frantically scrambled through her file folder to search for the said papers. "I have them, Myoui. My little interns still struggling to keep up, I see." A woman entered the room with a neatly stapled packet in hand, almost as neat as the suit she was wearing. She set the papers on the desk, "Forgive me but they can only learn from their mistakes."
"Son, I'll meet you outside, and stay there." Chaeyoung exited the room promptly. The room felt heavy with tension between the two strong, competitive women in there. "Why are you doing an interns work?" The woman mentioned as 'Myoui' spoke, her tone as cold as her features. "I'm not doing Son's work, I was the reason she was so frantically waving her arms apologizing about her late presence," The unknown woman paused to adjust the collar of her undershirt. "And besides, while training Son she left the papers you were looking for on my desk. I tried to catch up to her but she was already running around this place like a chicken with it's head cut off."
Myoui scoffed, "So, that's your excuse to see me? Pathetic, (L/n)." The woman cocked an eyebrow, "If I actually wanted to see you, I would've asked you on a date first." The jet-black haired woman got up from her desk, tearing her gaze away from the woman in front of her to shove her roughly, their gazes meeting again with glares. "God, why won't you get it through that thick skull of yours? I don't like you like that, (Y/n)." (Y/n) grabbed Myoui by her collar, "You were the one who begged me to work here instead of my own god-damn company, and now you treat me like I wronged you in some way. Get your shit together, Mina.
"I only flirt with you because you don't see the fun in life anymore, like when we were ambitious children wanting to succeed together. We're still succeeding, it just seems like one of us is straying away from that little promise that we made." Mina's glare faltered into a sympathetic look, as she looked down at her hand and at (Y/n)'s hand as well. She still has her stupid thread around her finger, but I can't be hypocritical.
"Look at that, big boss Mina lost her composure to a promise that we made as children." A knock disrupted their argument, (Y/n) let go of Mina's collar before shoving her hand in her pocket. "Come in," Mina's tone was confused. "Sorry to interrupt, Son. I'll be leaving now. I'll be seeing you later to catch up on your training, correct?" Chaeyoung nodded as the woman walked out of the office, the door slamming behind her. "Is everything alright, boss?" Mina's thoughts were scattered as she simply nodded. "Let's get back to work."
(Y/n) blankly stared at her computer monitor in front of her, reminiscing the argument that she just had. "That stupid motherfucker, she forgot about it." Silence enveloped the woman as she spun her chair towards the wall, trying to think about something else. We were only children. We promised to succeed together and that we'd be married once we had a well-known business. I pulled a thread off of my brand new shirt to "propose" and look at where that's got us now, fighting because she can't keep her word. A sigh escaped the woman's mouth as she stood up, taking off her blazer and draping it along the back of her chair.
A few hours passed and a knock dragged (Y/n) back to reality from her computer screen, numbers and resumes being filed. "Come in, Son." The door opened slowly, heels clicking closer and closer to the woman glued to the filing the rest of new resumes and calculating their average salary. "I told Son to go home, she needs the night off from your torturous grasp at least." Mina's voice rung out, echoing off of the walls in the room. Her slim fingers turned off the monitor with a single push of a button from underneath the large screen. "Can we talk?" The jet-black haired woman questioned as she sat on an empty space on (Y/n)'s desk. (Y/n) looked up from her screen, craning her neck upwards to make eye contact with Mina. "As long as there are no arguments or physical altercations involved, then I'm willing to talk since I am the person you hired to be your personal HR manager."
"I haven't been able to get what you said out of my head, ever since I heard the words come out of your mouth, and I saw it." (Y/n)'s eyebrow propped itself upwards in question. "Saw what exactly, Myoui? Can't leave me hanging since you wanted to talk." Mina held her hand up and pointed to the thread sitting promptly of her finger. "So you did see that earlier," (Y/n)'s voice drifted off. "I did and I wanted to apologize. I am so deeply, truly sorry for all the pain I've costed you these past years. It must've been so painful since all you've experienced is my harsh distancing between our friendship and our promise." Mina looked down at her hand with a smile, tears welling up in her eyes.
(Y/n) stood up and embraced her friend, hoping that she understood that she was forgiving every mistake made from the years previous up until that moment. Mina slowly entangled her arms around (Y/n)'s waist, resting her head on the broad shoulder. "Thank you," The jet-black haired woman muttered. (Y/n) kissed the woman's head, "Anything for you, Myoui. Even if I have to wait a million years or eternity. I'll always hold up my end of the promise until you're ready."
"Can I take you out for dinner?" Mina asked quickly, taking the opportunity at hand. "Let's go, right now." A smirk dancing across (Y/n)'s face as Mina pulled away from the embrace, their faces inches apart. "This feels so foreign, but it seems so right." Mina muttered, playing with the hem of the other woman's button up with her slim, delicate fingers. "You're getting a bit hasty there, Myoui. Dinner first." (Y/n) chuckled as she pecked Mina's lips. "I'm getting hasty?" The woman with jet-black hair stuttered out as her face turned red.
The ride to the restaurant was brief, but to the two in the car; it had felt like eternity. They hopped out of the car and was almost immediately sat down in the restaurant (due to their connections). There was an obvious tension between their strong presences, but it was left alone. "For knowing you for so long, I didn't take you to be a romantic person." A laugh was shared between the couple, "If you actually listen to my advances with you at the corporation, you might've understood where all this romance-y stuff came from." Mina intertwined her fingers with the woman's beside her as she listened to more romantic words spill out of her mouth.
The two ordered from the menu as the waiter wrote their food choices down, "Great choice for the filet mignon. How would you like it cooked?" Mina thought briefly, "Medium-rare, asparagus on the side." She drank wine from her glass afterwards, looking at (Y/n) to order. "I'll have the same," A curt smile came from the woman before grabbing Mina's menu and handing it to the waiter.
Right then, their gazes met and a fit of quiet laughter came from the couple. "You know, I would've never thought that we'd end up in a situation like this. From enemies to lovers in a day," Mina spoke up. "We were never enemies though, just acquaintances who knew each other very well." Mina rested her head on (Y/n)'s shoulder. "I'm glad that you brought up the promise though, if you hadn't, I think we would still be arguing." A herd of chuckling came from the two. "You're right, we would've argued until the building collapsed."
"Good thing that silly string on our fingers brought us together again." (Y/n) kissed Mina's cheek, "Our little promise."
