Jihyo had been looking forward to this day. It would be the anniversary of when her and one of Twice's ten members joined the company. They each trained for ten years and became great friends in that time spent together, both girls worked hard to debut and get where they are today. Jihyo had hoped to invite her fellow member out to spend their day off together to cherish their long-lasting friendship.
"(Y/n), get up," Jihyo pat the younger woman's leg as an attempt to wake her up. A groan came from the woman as she tossed the blanket at Jihyo. "Don't you want to celebrate our trainee-versary?" (Y/n) almost immediately shot up, her eyes wide open after hearing Jihyo. "I'm awake, give me a few minutes to get ready," Jihyo laughed at her member as she scrambled out of bed to get prepared for their day out. "I'm in no rush, (N/n)."
Minutes pass as (Y/n) emerges from the restroom, she wore a simple dress and had a blazer as an overcoat to keep her warm. "Are you ready, Ji?" Jihyo nodded at the woman in front of her and linked her arm with the latter. "Where are we headed to first?" (Y/n) questioned her dearest friend with a faint blush that ran from her cheeks to her ears. "You'll see, (N/n)," Jihyo smiled at the inquiry, her member always curious about the smallest details.
The two women walk up to a small cafe. "This is where we first met outside of training," (Y/n) pointed out to her fellow member and closest friend whom she loved deeply. "I'll order if you would like to grab us a seat," Jihyo nodded over to the tables and chairs to signal. (Y/n) went and sat down in a booth as she waited for her friend to come back over to her.
Jihyo sat across from (Y/n) as they waited for their order to be neatly set down on the table in front of them. "I made sure to get your favorite," Jihyo grinned as she rested her hand on the table for (Y/n) to take. She fiddled with her friend's fingers, an old habit that grew to be something that needlessly accompanied their comforting silence. "I've missed this," (Y/n) finally spoke midst the silence. "This?"
"Yeah, the days where we could be ourselves without the cameras. They're always my favorite," (Y/n) cupped her face with her hand and rested her arm on the table. "I get it, we hardly have any privacy as idols," Jihyo sympathized with her member. As the leader, she had that expectation to be able to sympathize with her fellow members and be able to assist them if they needed it. It was one thing Jihyo was good at. "I just wish that we could still get that privacy, especially outside of the dorm. That's the only place that we really get privacy."
"It's difficult saying that it's part of being an idol, I wish we could do something about it, but sadly there is no fix to everything," Jihyo squeezed (Y/n)'s hand and released it as she made room for their drinks and breakfast food. "Enjoy," The waiter smiled and stalked away with his tray in hand. (Y/n) looked down at the array of food that Jihyo ordered. "You really got all of my favorites, where are yours?" Jihyo pointed to one thing out of the rest of the assortment. "That isn't fair to you, Ji."
"It's perfectly fine, I like most of the things you do anyways," Jihyo waved it off and took a sip of her drink that she ordered. A huff came from (Y/n) across the table as she also drank her coffee. "I have something that I wanted to talk to you about," Jihyo suddenly spoke up after placing her cup down on the table. "You can talk to me about anything," (Y/n) gently smiled at her friend that sat across from her. "So, Mina told me something a week or two ago and it hasn't left my mind since."
"Something about me?" (Y/n)'s eyes widened as she anticipated the answer to her question. "Yes, it was how you felt about me being your friend," Jihyo continued, then taking another sip from her drink to wet her suddenly dry mouth. (Y/n)'s brows knitted together as she thought hard as to what Jihyo was talking about. Then it hit her, hard. "Oh, that." The words left (Y/n)'s mouth with a somewhat bitter tone. "How long have you felt like this?"
"Is how I feel going to ruin our friendship?" (Y/n) suddenly interrupted, her eyes wide with shock. "No, I just want to know how long you've felt that way about me, then we can talk like adults," Jihyo chuckled at the girl in front of her, holding her hand once more to calm her down. "I've felt this way for a while, Ji. Though, I figured it out around 2016 how much I loved you." They both took sips of their drinks before snacking a bit on the sweets in front of them. "You know, (Y/n), it surprised me that you thought that you liking me would end our friendship."
"Well, the way you were asking made me worried that it would," The mentioned woman looked down at her lap nervously, somewhat ashamed of her reaction earlier. "But," Jihyo started though paused to make the woman across from her look up, "You never asked how I felt about you. You know, I don't think I would've ever wanted to love and care for someone quite like you, (N/n). Our bond is something I have never wanted to get rid of nor would I let that happen. I've cherished every single memory that we have made ever since our trainee days back when we were just children trying to accomplish our dreams." Jihyo paused once more to catch her breath and to watch (Y/n)'s features contort into confusion. "I would want nothing more than to give you as much love as you'd like, though I had never knew how you felt until Mina told me."
"Ji," (Y/n) tried to intervene but the woman held up a finger. "Let me finish this last thing. (N/n), it has been a very long, strenuous journey for the both of us to get where we are today, but I would do it a million times over again if you were involved. You mean so much to me, (Y/n), and if taking the next step for us will make our bond and love for each other stronger, then I'm willing to do the absolute most to make that happen." A tear rolled down (Y/n)'s now-rouge cheeks as she cried from the heartfelt words from her member. Jihyo sat beside (Y/n) and hugged her tightly, allowing the woman to sob into her shoulder until her tears subsided.
"I'm okay now," (Y/n) pulled away from the hug and wiped her face with her sleeves. "(Y/n), I don't want to make you cry any more, but I want to make this official as long as you're willing to," Jihyo pat her member's back, their faces only mere inches apart. "I'm so willing to be your girlfriend, Jihyo. You don't know how happy it makes me to not hide my love for you anymore."
