Mumbai:
"Sannia puttar?" Pammi ji stroked Shehnaaz's face lovingly.
"Mummy!" Shehnaaz whined in despair. Her senses have gotten back few minutes ago.
"Mummy mera Sidharth!" she sobbed again rubbing her hand on her tummy!
"Kuch nehi hoya puttu! Doctors vekh rahe hain na damad ji nu!!" Pammi ji hugged her.
"Di aap mom ko phone karo!" Shehnaaz sobbed and pleaded to Preeti.
It was amidst the shock that made Shehnaaz faint. The while she had learnt about the malfunctioning of the heart rate of Sidharth there her own BP shot up and the stress made her numb for a while. The doctor was immediately called in and Adith personally brought the general physician and her Gynae together at the spot. The two souls though in different part of the world but was suffering at the same time.
"She has gotten into a shock here. Keep her medicated and let her be at rest. The more she sleeps the more it will be good for both her and the baby." the family doctor, Dr. Gaikwad spoke to the family. The Gynae Dr. Degwekar checked the baby's condition in the meanwhile. She informed that due to the quickness by the family there was no effect on the baby but if the stress goes on it will lead to the premature birth of the baby and in turn it may affect the baby's health. A female attendant was kept on her insistence who will be in touch with her even in the meanwhile.
Shehnaaz woke up straight six hours later and as soon as her senses kicked in, she remembered her Sidharth was fighting with life there. In any other time, she could have easily prayed to her Waheguru to take her life and give back Sidharth his but given the situation in she could not even pray so.
The attendant could have easily injected her to sleep but she had to be fed before doing so provided she was in her late seven month's pregnancy. Neetu and Preeti di somehow fed her with a bowl of soup of mixed vegies and chicken. Though Shehnaaz made faces and did fuss but one stern look from Preeti di and she gulped all.
Neetu di called Rohan Jiju up and learnt that the doctors are still trying to stabilize the heart rate. The operation did affect the nerves and to act upon it was the medicines. There was a vast difference between the terms of treatment between the two countries, India still lacked nit in terms of technology but in terms of quick reaction too. The major mistake that Dr. Verma and his team did was they did check Sidharth's heart condition but did not check his or his family's past records. His father too passed away because of a massive heart attack. A family history does matter in case of such vital operation.
Shehnaaz had been awake since an hour, her Sidharth had been fighting with himself to live. No news of relief came. She was losing herself and the only thing that comforted her and gave strength was talking to their baby in the bump.
"Puttu... papa ko bol jaldi uth jaye.. Papa ne promise kiya tha na.. Ki puttu jaab ayega inni nanha sa banke toh papa apne godi mein lenge... toh papa ko bol ki tujhe aur tere mumma ko tere papa chahiye.." Shehnaaz spoke rubbing her belly, patting it softly.
"Waheguru... maine apse Sidharth ki shehmati ke liye pray kiya tha.. Aap toh sabka mehr karte ho na... ye mera baccha mere peit mein, isne apne papa ko dekhna hain.. Aap saab thik kar do.. Main promise karti hoon, aur kuch nehi mangungi, bass isko iske papa aur mujhe mera Sidharth lauta do." she prayed folding her hands, sobbing. It was dawn by then in India.
"Puttar uth, fresh ho le.. Phir juice deti hoon!" Pammi ji said hugging her. It was the toughest time that the family was going through. Shehnaaz knew sending mom was the right decision. She was a calm and composed lady and could stand still even in the eyes of the storm.
