Moon Above Me

Moon that's in the sky,
Why must you be somewhere so high?
You lay above me in perfect light,
While I must be here on earth a target of spite.

You sit there without a care, oh how I wish I could be like you
If you were here on earth, would you want to be like me too?

Out there so far away in space
At least there you have a place.
For me, I feel lost.
Some days I wonder what is the cause
The days go by so slowly, as if life is on pause.

But then again, how you must feel so alone in the sky.
Stars are around you and always passing by.

Maybe Moon, you understand life like I do.
If that were the truth,
I'd be happy too.
