A Long Way to Go

Chapter- 3- Homecoming

Olivia's P.O.V

You know, one person I had been trying to avoid since the past month will be living beside me! It may be easy to criticise and think how childish I am but it's just not a fight because of some stupid debate group instead it's what happened after that. Anyway, trying not to ruin my mood I go to my younger brother's (Dave) room and he's still not up! Why does mom go travelling when I need her the most?!

I sent Darc to buy some groceries and bring back my book I lent to one of the girls from the high school

I try to wake Dave up "Hey!! Wake up. Some people are going to arrive today remember?" I said

He replied, still half- asleep "You can just say that mom's friends are coming"

"There's an animal with them too, wake up now"

"An animal?" He sat up excitedly "which one?"

"You'll know, the animal is little stupid, dumb and also irritating"

"Are you talking about Darcy's toy?"

"What? No obviously not dummy, I" (My phone starts ringing)

"One second Dave, get ready" I say as I pick up Darcy's phone

"Ello" I say

"Ya Olivia, promise me that you won't freak out"

"What did you do? My book's fine right?!" I panicked

"I didn't do anything! I spoke to my moms as well"

"Wait! Mom's involved? OKAY What diD yOu Do?"

"Aiden called me He said that they can't shift today so"

I interrupted her by saying "Really? Goodness you scared me, finally I don't have to see him today"

She continued "So He asked my help and I agreed to pick them up"

"That's cool! But wait, if the furniture's not here where are they living?"

"Look You just have to clean the house a little bit" she tried to dodge my question

"You didn't! You did not just ask them to stay over. Oo You did, didn't you"

"I didn't have another choice, fine I gotta go. Just don't act weird"

"Sure, you want me to act *NoRmaL* why not Darcy Howard"

I hung up still speaking dramatically now that I hadn't realised it I turned to Dave and continued in the same tone

"my best friend just ruined my dad!"

Dave said "They are going to stay with us?" he asked as he was making his bed

"How do you know" I said realising how bad I sounded earlier

"You just told me! By shouting, Olivia Henning"

"Whatever! Get ready and we got work to do"

By the time Dave was getting dressed and stuff, I took the responsibility to clean the guest rooms of both the houses.

Darcy's P.O.V

I kept the bags inside the car, Mrs Harrison and Mrs Hemsworth thanked me and we started the ride

Noah sat in the back seat and Aiden in the front. Their mom's were behind Noah with the bags

Halfway on the road, I got a call from Olivia. The problem was that the call was on speaker and I couldn't reach my phone

I answered it pressing the call button from the steering,

She said

"Ello, Darc?"

I was satisfied that she didn't say anything stupid

I replied "Ya, we're on the way."

"So, I just called to tell you that the room's ready. I cleaned the guest rooms of both the houses"

"You were able to?" Noah mocked from behind

"Oh well" I knew a sarcastic comment was coming from Olivia

"I don't think everyone are able to, some people whom I may not talk to or even care about them have been really lazy"

Aiden interrupted so that there was no online fight. He glanced at me and said "So, Liv you still read Harry potter novels? Found them in the seat"

"What? O it's you obviously and yeah I do I just lent them to one of our friends"

I heard Noah chuckling and whispering "good to know she does has friends"

I hung up and looked at Noah from the mirror he was smiling. Boy, who in the world smiles after fighting. I tell you; this guy is a player. Not in a bad way, but you know he's gotta plan.

"We're here" I said leaping out of the car "liv, help them get the bags! I will park after that"

"Yeah sure" she said as she met the big two (it's weird calling them that but get used to it"

Noah's P.O.V

I saw frems meeting our moms, I saw a big and cute smile on her face though she hates me, doesn't mean I hate her as well. just kidding though I dislike her. Hate is a strong word though. Anyway!! She walked past me trying to ignore me that's when I felt like quoting Taylor Swift. I whispered "Darling, I am a nightmare dressed like a daydream" I waited for a sarcastic reply and there it was

"you're wearing denims! Taylor Swift nailed that song, I doubt everyone can't"

As she carried one of the bags I followed her inside the house

I met Dave! That dude's cool

He said "Olivia, where's the animal"

She replied bending down a little "behind me"

Saying that she went inside toward my mom

I was expecting an animal to run to Dave and that's when I realised who the animal was

Dave said "you're too tall for an animal"

Before I said anything Olivia said "Ya D, better call this animal, a monster"

To others it seemed like a really funny joke. But to me, it felt like "the show just started" moment

Trying to feel a little offended, I asked her "Where do I stay?"

Darcy replied "there are few guest rooms, here and also in the house next door"

Mom came to us and told "Okay, kids! We give you one night freedom! Y'all stay here, the four of us are going next door. Alright?"

I tried to protest by saying "But mom, Mrs Henning isn't back."

Aiden said "she informed she'd be by tonight"

I wanted to murder my best friend for the second time today but I just smiled.

Our moms left us, Dave told frems he would stay over at his friend's house tonight

He said while leaving "Bye guys!" he waved then turned to me and told "Bye Mr. Perfect"

I wanted to know how many more nicknames did Frems keep for me.

"What about a movie?" Aiden said "We could catch up later on"

Third stupid idea Den! I felt bad on how hard Aid and Darc were trying so I agreed

Olivia didn't have a choice so with that we decided to watch some after we had lunch
