Chapter 16

Weeks passed, and Monday lunchtime came. Yeji is yet again busy doing paperworks on her desk. Ryujin on the other hand came in the room with a smile plastered on her face "hey" she started

"Hi" Yeji replied looking up to her

"So, I—"

"Hey!" someone interrupted opening the door. They both turned and saw Yeonjun "Look what I got?!" he asked showing a paper bag.

Yeji opened the bag and saw a container of food "Yeonjun, you didn't have to" she said taking out the contents of the bag

"Nah, I was in the area and I know you'd be busy doing work so, I decided to bring you lunch" Yeonjun replied then turned to Ryujin "Oh, RS sorry. I forgot you're here too. Do you want me to get something for you too?" he asked

"Uhm...no. Nah. It's fine. I just had lunch. Thanks", said Ryujin politely

"Are you sure?" he asked

"Yeah. Yeah" she replied "I'll be outside" she opened the door when she heard Yeji

"Ryujin, what were you about to say?" Yeji asked

Ryujin hid the paper bag behind her "Uhm... nah. It's nothing important. Enjoy your lunch" she replied and walked out the door. She then went to the café across the street.

Opening the door someone said "If it isn't princess charming" making her turn to the booth near the window "you're back. I'm guessing it didn't go as planned?" asked Soobin.

Ryujin made her way towards the pair. She set the paper bag on the table and shook her head.

Jisu sighed "I'm guessing it had to do with Yeonjun?" Ryujin didn't say a word then sat next to the girl and fiddled with paper bag "We saw him pull up a couple of minutes after you went up"

"Are you ok?" Soobin asked on the other side of the booth

Ryujin didn't reply

"Hey, lighten up. What happened to the optimistic Ryujin we know? Maybe he's just there to get some paperwork?"

Ryujin shook her head "No, they're having lunch"

"And why are you here?" Soobin asked "you should be there guarding your girl, girl"

"Nah, I'm not a sadist" she paused looking down at the table and a tear slip out of her eye. She quickly wiped it away.

"Hey, hey. It's going to be ok" said Jisu comforting the girl next to her

"That rhymes" said Soobin earning him a kick in the shin from Jisu

Ryujin looked outside towards the buildings main entrance and right on cue, she saw Yeonjun and Yeji on their way out and walked towards his car.

No one said a word as they watched the couple drive off. Jisu placed a hand on Ryujin's shoulder.

Afternoon came, and Ryujin was in the kitchen eating an apple with a knife when Yeji walked in "Hey" said the girl making her look up "have you seen mom and dad?"

Ryujin pointed the knife towards the sliding door leading to the back garden

"Thanks" Yeji said and made her way towards the door. But before she got out she turned to the girl ones more "hey, are you ok?" she asked

Ryujin turned her head meeting the girl's eyes "yeah. You?"

"I'm great. Uhm... do you want to join me?" Yeji asked.

Ryujin shook her head "Nah, it's fine" she replied

"Ok. I'll be at the back" Yeji replied watching the other girl get up from her seat and sat the knife on the sink. Ryujin turned to her again nodded.
