CHAPTER 1

Jen's POV

Changed

As I walked pass the hallway, many employees greet me but I didn't mind them. May meeting pa akong hinahabol at kailangan kong bilisan kaya wala na akong oras para baitiin sila pabalik. After all, I never really did greet any of them in past so there's no need to do so.

Pagkarating ko sa opisina ko ay agad kong kinuha ang ilang dokumento sa lamesa ko at naglakad na ulit palabas ng office. Pagkabukas ko ng pintuan ay siya namang pagdating ng sekretarya ko. She's too slow I admit, but I have a hectic schedule this week so I need to bear with her.

"The meeting room is ready Ma'am. All of the board members arrived as well as the presenter. Kayo na lang po ang hinihintay." Salubong na sabi niya sa akin. I just nod at nilagpasan ko na siya.

Pagkarating ng meeting room ay puno na nga iyon ng tao. I sat at the middle of the long table and gesture my hand as a signal to start the meeting. I busy myself looking at the portfolio of the meeting's agenda while listening to the presenter. The meeting is about on the company's project that will start constructing next month, it is just the finalization.

Dahil finalization na lang naman ito ay maayos na halos lahat. I already check this yesterday and with the presentation, I only agree more that this project is perfect. It is about the construction of our company's own sport arena.

"That's all, thank you." Pagtatapos ng presenter.

Iniangat ko ang tingin ko at nakita ko kung paanong gumuhit sa mukha ng taong nakatayo sa harapan ang takot but still remain the smile on her face. No one dares to talk because they know that when the meeting is for finalization, I don't want any more suggestion. They can do that on the first, second and third meeting, so why suggest when it is just finalizing now?

Huminga ako ng malalim and then look at the folder in front of me again and went to the last page where the whole illustration of the sport arena is placed. Isa 'to sa mga pinakamalaking project ng kumpanya sa nakalipas na dalawang taon and I'm confident that this one will be successful. I close the folder.

"It's all finalized now. The construction will start next week." Pinal na sagot ko at tumayo na sa upuan, as a sign of the meetings ending.

Agad na nakasunod sa akin ang sekretarya ko. It's 9 in the morning at hindi pa ako nag-uumagahan. Maaga akong pumasok, actually 6:30 pa lang nandito na ko, may urgent meeting lang with one of the investors and I didn't get to eat breakfast at the restaurant where we met dahil nagmamadali ako para sa meeting ngayon.

Pagkarating ko sa opisina ay agad akong pumunta sa lamesa ko at sinimulan ng magtrabaho. Makalipas ang ilang minuto ay pumasok ang sekretarya ko na may dalang isang paper bag at isang cup ng kape.

"Here's your breakfast Ma'am. Pasensya na po at natagalan, kanina pa po kasi ito dumating kaya pinainit ko po muna. Ito na r—"

"Just leave it there." Putol ko na sa kaniya nang hindi siya nililingon. I don't care about her explanation after all.

"Okay po Ma'am. Nasa labas lang po ako kung kailangan niyo ko." Iwinaswas ko ang kamay ko at umalis naman na siya.

It's already 11 when I decided to eat. Although while eating I'm also reading one of the documents in my table earlier. Patapos na akong kumain ng kumatok ang sekretarya ko at pumasok.
