#BCD26 Chapter Twenty Six

ARTEMIS DIDN'T EVEN remember how she got inside her room that night. Nagising na lang siya kinaumagahan na masakit ang ulo. Maybe because of the beer she drank at the bonfire session, and of course the sudden dive in the dark and cold sea water.

She forced herself to stood up and walked towards the bathroom. Naghilamos siya at nagsipilyo, bahagyang nakapikit ang mga mata dahil sa pagpintig ng kaniyang sintido.

What time is it, anyway?

Nang matapos ay lumabas na siya mula sa banyo para hanapin ang kasama niya sa villa.

Pero halos nalibot na niya ang lahat ng sulok ng villa at hindi pa rin niya nahahanap si Paris.

"Where is he?" she whispered to herself.

Bumalik siya sa kaniyang kwarto para magbihis. She chose to wear a white crop top sando and brown flowy pants. Tinali niya ang mahabang buhok at saka lumabas na ng villa.

The sun was shining above the sea water that made it sparkly clear. Some tourists went boating early in the morning. May mga natatanaw rin siyang bangka ng mga mangingisda na nasa laot, hindi kalayuan sa private beach ng pamilya nila. She saw some of the chefs having their early breakfast inside the buffet hall. Artemis squinted her eyes when she saw someone raising her hand like she was calling her.

Umawang ang kaniyang mga labi.

It's her Tita Bleu!

Naglakad siya palapit sa buffet hall kung saan nakatayo roon ang kaniyang tiyahin. She smiled when her aunt welcomed her with her warm smile. Nilapitan niya ito para yakapin.

"Good morning, Tita Blue," bati niya rito nang may munting ngiti.

"Good morning, Art. Have you eaten?"

"Kagigising ko lang po."

"Would you like to join me for breakfast, then?" Nanatili ang malambing na ngiti ng ginang habang tinatanong siya.

At that moment, she knew that her aunt knows something about what happened to her last night.

Alanganin siyang ngumiti. She just went out to look for Paris. Hindi naman niya aakalaing nasa resort na rin pala ang kaniyang Tita Bleu. Nakwento ni Gali sa kaniya na kadalasan ay nasa Boracay ito at ang kaniyang Tito Zaccheo dahil mas demanding ang business nila roon kaysa sa Alpha Azul. Nabanggit din ng ginang na sa huling araw na lang ng fair ito magpapakita sa resort.

Kaya ngayong naroon na ang ginang ay marahil may importante itong inaasikaso.

And Artemis already have a hint about it.

"Your mother called me last night, hija," imporma nito nang makaupo na sila sa loob ng buffet hall.

Tito Bleu called for breakfast but Artemis refused to. Parang may kung ano sa kaniyang kalamnan na nagpawala ng gana niya sa pagkain. And to think that they will be talking about the incident last night, no wonder she doesn't have the appetite to eat.

"The Michelin representative called her and told her about what happened..." Her aunt stared at her with her worried eyes. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Tita Bleu."

"Your mom can't contact your phone."

"The battery's empty." She wasn't sure if that's true. She haven't checked her phone since last night.

"Your dad was furious. He wanted to pull you out from the fair."

Naalarma siya sa tinuran ng ginang. "I'm going to talk to him, Tita. What happened was just an accident!"
