Chara hummed as she cracked the egg into the mixer bowl. She began whisking the egg with the butter and sugar while her assistant Baker took out the 4th batch of cinnamon roll out from the oven.
A few of her assistants were decorating her doughnuts, cutting her apple pie, while the head chef was preparing the blueberry filling for the blueberry pie.
The sweet snelling aroma wafted around the bakery as Chara and her employees were ready to open their store.
" Lately we have been receiving many companies staff during the peak hour and not to mention the university students," Minah, the barrista chimed as Chara walked over to the counter to place the apple pie.
" That's good isn't it ? I am thinking of adding some new drink menu's as well, something cold and blended as well as fresh juices," Chara said as the girl nod.
Chara's manager Lila, smiled and nod her head as she walked out with the egg tarts and cinnamon roll.
"Oh Chara...we had an order yesterday from RDY business group, apprently their organising a charity event next week and they want us to cater desserts. The secretary claimed that the ceo's wife loved the chocolate truffle that she ate at the function we catered last week," Lila said causing Chara to smile and nod.
" Then I want you to liase with them. Once we receive a proper correspondence then we can mail them the sample and ask them to see us at the office and not here," Chara said causing Lila to smile and nod.
" I will be going to the office at 3pm then," Lila said to Chara who nod her head while the Barista giggled and pointed to a few people who was already standing infront of the bakery.
" Upsie daisy bossy, We have people," Minah exclaimed as she wore her apron while Chara chuckled and walked towards the main door, flipping the sign to show open and unlocked the door.
Chara smiled as she watched the flurry of activities as people rushed to get a cup of coffee and bagel before going to their office. She shook her head, smiling knowingly as Kishan and Aaryn had purchased the most strategic place for her to open the bakery. There are numerous office buildings in the vicinity and the bakery attracted the working crowd who either fancied a small break at her bakery or even easy outlet to grab breakfast on the day they were late.
The bell rang as the door opened and a woman hurried inside. Chara raised her eyebrows and gave her a polite smile.
" Hi, welcome to Nandana's bakery, How may I help you today ?" Chara asked the woman who gave a tired smile.
" Hi, I need around 2 dozen of small pieces of cakes or something ? There is a sudden meeting and then person in charge forgot refreshment...I only have 30 minutes," the woman said looking distorted.
Chara smiled and nod her head.
" I can recommend our blueberry cheese tart or apple tarts, it comes with a small cover so you can either place it infront of each person or even keep it in a separate table," Chara said causing the woman to sigh.
" I will a dozen of the cheese tart and a dozen of the apple tarts. Can you keep them inside a cute box or something ? Oh what's that ?" The woman asked pointing her finger to the case.
" That's a shepherd pie, we have lamb meat and cottage cheese with carrots and potato inside it," Chara said with a small smile.
" Great, can I have that ? Naa iniki pora pokka partha lunch ke poga mudiyathu," The woman rattled causing Chara to smile and nod her head.
She turned around and packed a dozen of the cheese tart and a dozen of apple tart into a blue and purple box designed by Venkat. She took the shepherd pie and placed it a clear plastic container and hand it to the woman once the woman finished paying to Lila.
