-Before Psyche’s Arrival-

Eros had stayed up, thinking of a plan to save Psyche and to satisfy his mother. It seemed impossible to him, but he was determined to save her.

Eros clicked his tongue and got up from his bed. “What do I do? How do I save her?” he whispered under his breath. Zephyrus would soon take Psyche to her death, and Eros had only a couple of hours to save her. He used all of his brainpower to think of a plan, but nothing came.

“Eros! Your handsome and amazing brothers are here!” It was Phobos and Deimos. They would come and visit Eros to make sure he was ok and to spend time with him.

“Oh, um, I’ll come out in a bit!” he yelled. He looked around his room and made sure it was clean and tidy. Aphrodite made sure to always tell her children to make sure their rooms were organized. It quickly became a habit for all of her children. Eros quickly ran to the door after organizing and opened it.

“Hey, Deimos. Hey, Phobos,” Eros smiled.

Phobos and Deimos jumped at him and squeezed Eros. Phobos and Deimos were incredibly strong, and Eros could feel all the air escape his lungs. As they let go of Eros, they started asking him questions.

“So, is it true a mortal dare disrespect mother by taking her worshippers?” Phobos asked.

“Did you take care of her? Is she dead?” Deimos asked with excitement.

“Yes to Phobos, and no to Deimos. I don’t know what punishment I should give her.” Eros didn’t want to tell them that he was going to save her, or that he was planning on marrying her.

“We can kill her for you,” Deimos smiled.

“No! Just stop asking me questions about her!”

Phobos and Deimos both looked at each other suspiciously, knowing Eros was hiding something.

“Is she beautiful? I bet she’s ugly.” Phobos was trying to get Eros mad, knowing he would break and tell them the truth.

“No, she’s indeed beautiful,” Eros grumbled.

“Well, she needs to go. Maybe dad can help.”

“No! We will not kill her!” Eros shouted.

“Why not? She disrespected mom. She should have been gone a long time ago.”

“BECAUSE I LOVE HER!”

Phobos and Deimos went eye-wide, not expecting Eros to say that. Eros clenched his fists and continued yelling.

“And I won’t let anyone kill her! She will be my wife and we will both make each other happy! I will save her from her demise! And if you can’t accept that then you aren’t good brothers!” Eros looked away from them and crossed his arms. “End of story.”

Phobos and Deimos looked at each other again, this time giving each other a worried look. “How will you hide this from mom then? You know she’ll kill her either way.”

“Well, I was already thinking of a plan, but nothing came to mind. I’m just worried whether she’ll be found by mom or if she will run away from me if she knows who I am.”

“Well, you obviously have to hide her.” Deimos wanted to help Eros, but he didn’t know how.

“But where?”

They stayed silent until Phobos thought of something. “How about an abandoned castle? One where no one goes to anymore.”

“Oh! And if you don’t want her to see you, just become invisible. Say it’s a curse or something,” Deimos suggested.

“Those are great ideas! And with the abandoned castle we can clean it and remodel it.”

We?” Deimos questioned.

“Please? Can you please help me?” Eros did his puppy eyes and clasped his hands together. “For me?”

Phobos and Deimos groaned and Eros smiled. “You guys are the best! Now, let’s get started.”
