One of the more unusual teams in this KOF Tournament. They are formed to investigate what troubles may occur in this tournament (As if ALL KOF tournaments aren't problematic...)

Dolores is a revered priestess hailing from the African Hinterlands, a group of countries which were formal colonies of Europe. Born and raised in the war-torn country of Mali, she is no stranger to violent conflicts. To help defend the weak and helpless, Dolores isolated herself in the desert where she learns to contact the spirits of the earth to fight. She utilizes holy soil to combat her foes, thus making her an earth-bender. For decades, people across the land travel to her place to seek wisdom.

Dolores herself passed away many years ago, before apparently resurrected through the haunting being known as Verse. To better understand what really is happening, she allied herself with mercenary commander Heidern and Chilean graffiti artist Isla. Some suggest that Dolores may hold the key to Verse's secret, however her connection to it remains a mystery.

Fun fact:  As of now, there aren't many interesting facts about Dolores. She is an enigma even to her own country. Records of her presence are virtually non-existent. In addition to that, Dolores isn't much of a talker, but when she does talk, she can pierce through even the hardest heart.

Isla

A feisty and energetic graffiti artist, Isla may very well be the most extroverted participant in King of Fighters history

A feisty and energetic graffiti artist, Isla may very well be the most extroverted participant in King of Fighters history. Funnily enough, she lives most of her life in solitude, with only a giant pair of phantomic purple arms as her company. She called those hands Amanda. However, when push comes to shove, Isla is no joke as she uses Amanda and her spray cans to mix up whoever gets in her way. Victims are often found lying flat on their face unconscious with blotches of spray paint all over them. She has a bright and cheery personality, but really has a bone to pick with Shun'ei. She seems jealous that Shun is loved and cared by the ones closest to him despite his abnormalities, whereas she did not receive the affection she deserved when she was a kid. After all, her childhood was spent wallowing about in a very horrible orphanage, highly criticized for unprofessionalism towards its orphans.

Fun fact: In her town, Isla is wanted for vandalism. Yeah, authorities have every reason to be mad at someone ruining the buildings with silly nonsensical graffiti art. However, Isla sees herself as an aspirator of youth, for her graffiti reflects current problems and cries for justice. Some of her art has inspired many youths to rally against problematic officers and demanding responsibility for those unjustly wronged. Before you start lumping her with those hypocritical 'SJWs', Isla walks the talk. When not voicing aspirations via art, she spends her time taking care of children from her former orphanage and doing graffiti art shows to earn a living.

Heidern

Heidern commands the mercenary unit in which Team Ikari belong

Heidern commands the mercenary unit in which Team Ikari belong. Naturally, he maintains a cold and strict demeanor, much like any hardened soldier, yet is also known to be very kind and nurturing to his adopted daughter Leona Heidern. Those who had served under him will testify that Heidern treats his men better than any other military leader. He never belittles them for their mistakes, wouldn't hesitate to get hands on with even the slightest problem, and rewards accomplished soldiers accordingly. Heidern wears an eyepatch to conceal his missing eye, taken by one of his deceased archenemies and the first KOF host in history, the cruel Rugal Berenstein.

He fights his enemies using a combination of martial arts and self-taught assassination techniques. Utilizing slashing hands and 'finger guns' (blame the freaking media for this stupid nickname!), Heidern is a force to be reckoned with. Usually, he would stay back in headquarters monitoring Team Ikari in their missions, but for this tournament, he decided to participate himself because he fears that the resurrection of deceased warriors around the world can cause immense havoc among the public, not to mention the resurrected villains who are more than willing to resume their evil plans. To help his investigation, Heidern recruits two people who may provide him clues to this incident, that being a resurrected African hermit and a teenager with phantom hands.

Fun fact: Despite his seemingly stern appearance, the Heidern fleet knows that given the chance, Heidern can (and WILL) act like a goofball. Some occasions where Heidern is known to act weird for the sake of his fleet include a few baby showers, the annual get-together party, Leona's birthday, and even acting as bait to entice enemy troops. It's not unusual to find photos of goofy Heidern being spread out among the fleet like trading cards, although those are quickly hidden or destroyed whenever the commander comes to inspect.
