The sleeves of my shirt start falling down,
Slowly uncovering every bit of me.
Your eyes wander on the discolored lines
Across the back of my shoulders

I swore you would run away
Yet you pulled me close
To get a better glance
As if you are memorizing

Every edge of me.
I utter every word of resentment I have
For everybody who has harmed me
And you were there, listening.

You watch me as my brows go up and down,
With fury eyes.
My love, you never ran.
Instead, you hold me like a precious jewel,

Fearing I may break
But my heart shatters twice as much as it has ever did
So this is how it feels to be accepted.
That's what I thought.

You were beautiful
Yet you keep telling me
I am a reflection of the beauty you hold;
That I am nowhere far from your charm

You even speak of me
Like I am beautiful, and more.
You remind me that I am brave and strong.
You let me believe I am as beautiful as the galaxy.
