Nintendo High: Freshman Year

New Semester

Several weeks have passed since the birthday party and school was about to start in a new semester very soon. Since it was her day of and the day before Krystal goes back school, Carmelita decided to treat them both at the diner to enjoy nice breakfast. After they got their drinks and food, Carmelita started to notice something wrong with Krystal. She seemed a little depressed.

"Krystal? Is something the matter?" Carmelita asked in concern.

"Ms. Fox." Krystal spoke. "IS there something wrong with me?"

"What? No. Why would you say that?"

"Because no one as adopted me yet. It's been months now and I'm still without a parent." Krystal then looked down. "I...I don't know why. Did Imamura cursed me?"

Carmelita can see tears coming out of Krystal. She grabbed a napkin and wiped the tears away from her face. "Honey. He has no power. So don't worry."

Krystal nodded. Carmelita felt so bad for her. She is such a sweet child and only wanted a loving parent or family. Imamura was once a loving father but soon changed for the worst over the obsession of Star Fox's legacy. After he was arrested for child abuse, Krystal has stayed with Carmelita and the two bonded so well.

Carmelita loved her so dearly as if she was her own child. Their bond has grown over the past few months, even during Christmas. Deep down, Carmelita wanted to adopt her so that they can continue to bond greatly. She had a stable job and lots of money. So it would be fair if she did adopt her.

That was when she decided to make a decision. She was going to tell Krystal her choice when her phone rang. She cursed it ringing at a bad time. But when she got to see who it was, she quickly answered it. "Yes, Chief?"

"Carmelita Fox. I got some bad news. Takaya Imamura has escaped!"

"WHAT!?! HOW!?!"

"We believe he was creating a tunnel during the night. Now he's gone! Keep a close eye out!"

"Yes, Chief!" She then hanged up and looked at Krystal who was confused and worried. Carmelita can tell she wanted to know what is wrong. So she sighed and explained. "Krystal. It's Imamura. He's...he's escaped."

"What?!" Krystal started to panic. She was out of that hellhole and didn't want to go through it again. "Carmelita! I'm...I'm scared!"

Carmelita then got to her side and hugged the frightened girl. "Shuu. It's ok. I'll protect you. I promise." Krystal just hugged tightly, trusting her protecter.

The first day of the second semester has finally begun. Most of the students were thrilled to see each other again. Some were upset that their holiday ended. For the past few weeks, it had been snowing like crazy. And now it's nice and warm, but forecast stated that the weather will be bad in the next week.

Neo and Stan finally meet up on their way to school. "Man. What a holiday." Stan said. "I had so much fun."

"Same." Neo agreed. "Plus, I was able to spend time with Krystal during New Year's."

"Hehe." Stan chuckled. "Sounds to me you love her."

"I do. Just like you. I'm sorry Loona's not here."

"It's ok. I still get to see her."

"True."

The boys then saw Isabelle who had just arrived. It looked like she was carrying some sort of birthday bag. The moment she saw them, she rushed towards them and hugged them. "Hi boys! I missed you both!"
