Arcane: The Little Bird (Male Reader, Brother of Vi and Jinx) Slow Updates

Episode 1 - Part 1

(Before we start, I will say the majority of this book will be from the pov of the reader with some cut aways to other characters)

Undercity, the last drop

The bar was busy tonight, filled with drunks, dealers and the regulars of course. Vander thought to himself as he cleaned a glass and looked out to the crowds of people but couldn't help but think about the kids. Well 4 of them. Vi, Powder, Mylo and Clogger weren't seen for most of the day but he found what they might of been up too. How?. Well a little bird told him of the rumours of 4 kids that looked like they were from the underground caused a explosion upside.

Who was this little bird? Vander looked up to the ceiling and in the rafters in his homemade nest was a skinny purple haired boy named Y/N or Lil Bird as Vander called him. The boy was playing with his arrows and looking over the guests. Hell of a shot, Vander thought to himself, the lad has a talent with a bow.

As he looked at the young kid, he couldn't help but think about that day he took him in, along with his sisters, Vi and Powder

Years ago
Vander pov

As the enforcers body dropped,i hears someone singing?? I turned to find the source but made eye contact with a.....young girl, I can't tell who it is because of the smoke. They shouldn't be here, whoever it is

I walked towards her and notice her holding the hand of another girl with blue hair, oh god.
Vi and Powder.

Then I noticed in her other arm was a kid curled up into a ball as she held them close to her chest. They need to get out of here, it's not safe especially with the young one

I stood in front of them and the girls looked to me in hope, no doubt for there if I know where there parents are around.......i couldn't help but look at my two friends lifeless bodies in the Rumble, i notice the two girls looked to them and tear up. I looked back and Vi collapses to her feel, holding her baby brother close as Powder hugs and crys............

I can't do this anymore

I let go of my weapons and let them hit the ground and pick up the kids, but let Powder hold Y/N as Vi cried herself to sleep. Poor things

Present
3rd pov

Since that day, Vander left the fighting behind and watched over the kids as his own. Vi got stronger and would do anything to protect her siblings. Powder is always tinkering with her bombs and is always wanting to help her sister or playing with ekko. Vander chuckled at the thought. Y/N became sarcastic, light hearted and took interest with bows and arrows and taught himself how to use them and even made unique arrows like one that is also a smoke grenade. He remembers when Y/N kept sneaking out at night. Vander thought he got in some gang or something, So Vander and the rest of the kids even ekko followed him to a hideout of his and saw him with his make shift bow and arrows and surprised everyone with his accuracy

Vander waiting for the 4 kids to return until he notices Huck is having some trouble with two traders. With a sigh, Vander puts down the glass and walks over to Huck to help him.

Vander: "You folks need anything?"

???: "leave us' the bald bearded guy didn't even bat an eyelid to Vander as he said it

Vander: "You sure about that?. Sounded to me like--"

???(lady): "Piss off"The lady said harshly at Vander. Which made his eyebrow lift up a bit

Vander: "Ah" Vander said nonchalantly and walked away to grab a chair, earning looks from the strangers as he dragged it across the floor and placed it next to Huck. "I think I know what you need" He said as he sat on the chair

???(Lady): "You don't seem to listen, barman--"

Vander: "A bit of advice" Vander cut the lady off "Dont threaten the guy who pours the drinks" He said as he pulled out his pipe and nudge his head to his right, showing the folks all staring at the two strangers clearly annoyed at how they spoke to Vander

???(Guy): "So you're Vander" Vander nodded as he lit his pipe

???(Lady): "Hound of the underground, I expected..... younger" He said a bit cocky as Vander responded with an amused face and he put ou his match and leaned back

Vander: "We were expecting traders who would honor their word, So I guess we're all disappointed"

???(guy): "You got us all wrong, my friend. We were just...negotiating"

Vander: "Now you're speaking my language. How about you just give Huck the rest of what you owe him, And I'll let you walk out of here in one piece" Vander said as he glare deepened. The male trader was clearly intimidated as the lady look like she was debating as she glared.

???:"ahem" All 4 heared a slight cough above them. Vander still glaring at the duo, shook his head, clearly annoyed at who made that sound. As Huck and the two traders look up and saw Y/N on the rafters above them, glaring at the traders as he spun a arrow in his hand. Huck was even more nervous, the man and lady shocked but also intimidated as they weren't expected to see a kid above them

Vander: "What? Didn't you expect something younger?" He said with a slight grin drawing the traders attention back to him "Do we have a deal?" He said as he offered his pipe to the lady. After a few seconds, she sighed and grabbed the pipe and took a puff......and then cough violently

???(lady): "This is vile" as he handed back to Vander

Vander: "You'll learn to love it"

*Bar door opens*

Vander and Y/N's attention both went to the bar door as the 2 boys and sisters entered the bar.

Vander kept his eyes on Vi whilst Y/N smiled at the sight of his sisters and friends

Vander: "Welcome to the lanes" Vander stood up and walked away. But whistled and let Y/N jump on his shoulders before letting the purple haired boy down to the floor and followed the 4 kids direction "What do I always say?" The boy sighed and said.

Y/N: "Just because I intimidated bad people, does not mean you can do it too Lil birdie" Y/N said in his best Vander impression as he pretended to smoke a pipe which made Vander chuckled and roll his eyes

Vander: "And I thought you were gonna be the less chaotic one out of you and your sisters" Vander said as scratched the back of his neck and Y/N giggled

Y/N: "So you are saying that, I'm the most special one" Y/N said smiling as he wrapped his arms around Vanders arm. Vander sighed, He still couldn't believe how sarcastic and smart this boy is at his age.

Vander: "Nope just annoying, lil bird" Vander said in a nice tone as he glances at the now pouting child. He pushed open backdoor to reveal the four kids sitting down with unhappy and nervous looks.
