"So you're telling me, that deal was supposed to be made last year? And you didn't let it happen?" Eduardo screamed at both Nico and me as he stood up from his chair.

"Father-"

"Nicolas, I made you in charge of this operation and you blew it for some stupid trip?" He threw the desk lamp to the wall on the side, letting it shatter. It's been a few months since I've seen him this mad and I certainly didn't miss it. "Nathanial, your thoughts?" I looked directly at Eduardo, trying to look professional even though my mind had other plans.

"Well, I was made aware this was happening between Amando and Nico just yesterday. Considering the fact that he had other business to take care of outside of Europe, I'm positive Nico was mildly responsible for that." Eduardo's eyebrows went upwards.

"Business? What business?" The Caruso famiglia was the second-biggest family in all of Italy. One that has a bad history with the Salucci. This past year, Nico has been trying to establish a better relationship between Amando and himself for the betterment of Nico's future. Or should I say, master plan? This plan included tricking Amando, the heir to the Caruso famiglia, to trust Nico and sign a partnership for business deals.

The catch? Eduardo was against it at all costs. And now he would even kill Nicolas if he could.

The moment this deal took place, Nico was in New York, hence why he stayed there. If he hadn't been there, I would've never met Amelia at the club either. One month later, Nico flew back to Rome to meet Amando. Everything went according to plan up until three days ago when Amando supposedly found out this was a trick. How he did do so? I have no clue. But something tells me it's someone close in the family.

"What business, Nicolas?" I looked over at him before he swallowed hard. The real reason was for her. His one night stand Brielle. He liked to keep an eye on her from time to time. However, if Eduardo or anyone else found out, he'd lose all his chances of taking his father's place, which he so desperately wanted.

"Kassian wanted to see Ada. I followed him since I had time to kill before the meeting," He answered confidentially.

"Why wasn't Laura with you?"

"You and I both know that she's there as an image. She's not a wife to me and certainly isn't my lover. I do what I want while she does whatever she wants." The one thing I didn't agree with was the fact she had the ability to spend Nico's money. Not that he notices. But I wouldn't like that. She does nothing but embarrass him and still gets away with it.

"Laura is your fiancé, young man, like it or not."

"You're a piece of shit you know that. If I had the ability to choose my wife like you were able to, we wouldn't be having so many problems."

"Why? Because you'd choose a poor girl from the streets?" I'd kill him if he referred to Brielle. Although considering Nico's temper and feelings towards her, he'd do so himself.
