I was back at my place in the underground bar mainly for two reasons

First off the day sucks

Nobody was showing any interest in my stock and something was telling me that I would have to steal again. It was that or starve. I preferred the latter for obvious reasons

I pushed the door open and nobody payed me much attention. They were used to me by now

I hated not seeing Vander here. Since the news of his death nobody had been quite the same. For the better or for the worse. And this guy was a cheap knock off that couldn't even make one decent beer

I signaled for him to come over and pushed a coin over the counter "Strongest you've got"

He nodded and went to silently prepare my drink. I sighed and put my head in my hands, the sudden exhaustion of the day catching up. I needed to unwind somehow and I knew just how to do it

I looked back at the band that always seemed to be here. Did they even have a life?

Imagine Dragons they called themselves. I remember when I first asked if I could try on their guitar. Since then they would let me take on as the lead singer when I need to blow off some steam. Like now

The barman turned around, a clear glass of alcohol in his hand "Here you-"

I grabbed it mid air and swallowed it before he could finish his sentence. I put it down and smiled, adding an extra wink for an effect "Thanks"

But before I could step over to them someone blocked my way "Cute dagger" The fella said

"I know, I'm not blind"

She leaned forward and I groaned. Some people really do still try to steal from me. Her hand reached for my dagger that was strapped securely against my thigh, but I was faster. I grabbed her wrist and twisted, then swiftly pinned it against her back

She glared and I smirked victoriously "Nobody steals from me. Really do none of you learn?" I raised my voice at that "Nobody, and I mean nobody steals from me. Got it?"

I clenched my teeth as I whispered in her ear. She nodded and I let her go. Everyone else just turned around and pretended not to have seen anything. I smiled at that and walked to where I could hear music being played

I approached the dragons and nobody even said anything before the one on the right tossed me the microphone "Give it all you got"

I smiled "You know I will. What are we playing?"

"Enemy" The bald one on the left mumbled. My grin spread over until I could feel my face muscles starting to hurt

"Perfect"

Then I was lost

The drums echoed in my ears, each string of the electric guitar clear to be heard and my voice to add on top of it all. It was a duo with their usual singer Dan and now myself truly

Everybody wants to be, my enemy!

I shared a look with him, a real grin on my face as I bobbed my head to the rhythm. He was enjoying it too

People were just starting to come by and I was barely able to make out their heads from the adrenalin. There comes the high notes now

It was a bitch to sing properly but God was it therapeutic. But once you turn they haaaaaate uuus

Oh the misery

Everybody wants to be my enemy

Spare the sypmpathy
