Where does it end?

I felt like I was run over by a boat

"Omf who the hell murdered me" I mumbled as I didn't have any motivation to lift my head off the heavenly pillow

The first thing that I noticed when I woke up was just how much my body hurt. Everywhere. It was numb at first but the longer my brain stayed into consciousness the more it began to register the pain.

I heard a chuckle next to my side and as I crooked an eye open I could barely make out the pink hair above my bed "Hey sunshine"

Vi suddenly grinned and I smiled at that. She had such a nice smile. It was a blessing and a curse

But as my eyes trailed lower I could see her worried posture. Shoulders stiff and pushed forward, her nails practically digging themselves in the edges of the mattress as she leaned forward in her seat

And I was in a different room. Hell I don't even know what I meant by that I had only seen one room in my life. And not to talk about how colourful it was compared to mine. That's when you start to realize just how dim your room must be if this was to be considered "colourful"

"Are you ok?" She asked, her hand tightly squeezing mine and I doubted she even knew what she was doing. I looked up into her concerned eyed and a small smile spread across my lips. I wanted to laugh but instead it came out as a painful cough "Yeah. Peachy perfect"

Vi sighed but chuckled nonetheless. Score for me. Cover the board yall "You had us there for a while" She put her head to lean on my arm and I leaned my head against hers

I smirked and tilted my head as much as I could. My body was killing me and I knew after this little distraction was over I was going to be suffering for a long while

I closed my eyes and breathed in for what felt like an eternity. Finally, my body was starting to relax "Hey it's not my fault Jinx decided to play murder with me"

"Powder. Her name is Powder" She repeated almost automatically, her voice soft which only made me blink slowly in confusion

The anger I had, the one that had gathered for so long against Silco was starting to boil up again. Even in the short time I had known Powder, or Jinx I suppose, it still didn't make things any better

"Well news flash Vi she tried to murder me and Caitlyn, oh not to forget the twelve other officers that lost their lives duo to her explosives" I didn't mean to raise my voice. It came out hoarse and dry but somehow it still had the authority I had worked for all those years ago

I guess muscle memory never really fails "She just... It was Silco. It wasn't her" She looked at my hand before releasing her grip and leaned back into her chair as she crossed her arms

My mouth hanged open "You can't be serious!" In the moment I tried to stand up, my legs already wanting to work but I was lightheaded, and naturally my legs gave out

I was sure I was going to greet the floor face first if it wasn't for a pair of arms to wrap around my waist and slowly pull me up to my feet

Her grip was strong, nice. And warm. I looked up, not really sure what to say as the silence stretched on around the room, the noises around me fading out as I looked into her eyes. Our faces were too close. I couldn't help my eyes from flickering down to her lips just for a second and I might have imagined it but, she did too

I closed my eyes and shook my head before putting one hand on her arm to steady myself "Thank you"

Vi helped me to sit back down and adjusted the covers around my body "Don't mention it"

After a moment of silence I mumbled "Where is Caitlyn? And where are we?"

She pulled one leg under her as she adjusted in her seat "She's with her parents. After you got knocked out she helped us get here"
