We ran. Fast.

Across the yellow wheat field and into the dark woods.

Mother carried me and ran as fast as possible.

We had to escape this place.

It wasn't fit for us.

The black clawed and fanged figures were closing in.

With their speed, they surrounded us.

My mom covered me with her scarf.

"Don't hurt her, kill me instead!" she said.

I wanted to scream no but before I could, I heard her scream as acid touched her skin.

I dug deeper in the scarf where it was acid-proof.

One of the dark creatures grabbed me and grinned.

"A blue one! Beautiful, beautiful! Say, we could sell this in the pet shop for at least 2 million huh?" it said and the others laughed.

They threw me in a cage and i stayed in the corner.

What did they want to do with me?

They stacked my cage along other creatures...like me.

After they put me down, they grabbed an albino and stuffed her in my cage.

The cage wasn't the biggest and there was barely space with her.

The creatures went away.

"Hi..." I said.

"Hey..." she said with a sad smile.

"Where are we, who are you?" I asked, scared.

"You mean you don't know?" she asked.

I shook my head.

"I'm Lily, an albino hybrid with heterochromia ..." she started.

"Hybrid?" that word sounded familiar.

"A mix between nature and human." she answered.

"I'm a half cat, you're half fox....but you're special." she said.

"The first of our kind was also a blue fox." she smiled.

"And where are we? We're in a pet shop to be sold to demons as pets." she added bitterly.

I turned pale.

"D-Demons?" I stammered.

"Creatures that wiped out humans and have special abilities. Some have acid, some suck blood...all that." she said.

"How do you know all this?" I ask.

"Mother told me about it....she's dead now." Lily looked down sadly.

"It's sad to hear that...mine met her last too..." I said.

"Well, we are probably worth a few million in this pet shop and probably going to be sold together." Lily said.

"Oh yeah, what's your name?" she asked as I racked my brain.

"Mother....never told me....she usually called me Little Pup." I said.

"Huh....you look blue, emotionally and physically... I'll call you Blue!." Lily said.

"Blue..." I repeated my name a few times and smiled.

"Thank you for the name Blue! I love it!" I said.

10 years later....

We grew up.
