Once upon a time, long long ago...-

Uh, Mal, how come you always tell this story? I wanna do it this time.

Alright, alright, have it your way.

Thank you. Okay, so let's rewind to about 20 years or so ago. Belle decided to get married to King Adam, who most of you know as "the Beast." The wedding was huge, and they sealed their love in front of a ton of family and friends. Big party, even bigger cake, lots of fun.

For them, at least. Unfortunately for us, our generation got the much shorter end of the stick.

You see, after their marriage and celebration, all the surrounding kingdoms and villages came together to form the United States of Auradon, with the President being none other than, you guessed it, the king himself. Because he wanted to maintain the current peace that had resided with all the lands, he decides to seek out the help of the Fairy Godmother, and together, they rounded up all of the villains and their sidekicks and associates to ship them off to an abandoned, rundown island which is now known as the 'Isle of the Lost.'

That's where we are, the place all of us grew up, our own personal neck of the woods. And to be frank, there's literally nothing here. You couldn't see the bright side of  our homeland if you tried. Because they decided to give villains back what they dealt on the others, they made sure to make the place a habited wasteland. It has absolutely no magic...

No Wi-Fi...

And no way out. Or so we thought.

Hold on, you're gonna meet us soon, but first, you have to see this part. It's pretty vital to the story.

In the land of Auradon, there's many things to be awaited that will change the kingdom, either for better or for worse. One of those things involves a young boy, the son of Belle and the Beast, Prince Ben, who's soon to be crowned as the new king of Auradon.

While he's being fitted for a suit for his upcoming event, he stares at the window, where the Isle of the Lost is clear and visible, mentally contemplating on how to announce a decision he's been anxious to present.

"How is it possible that you're gonna be crowned king next month?" His father greets and he walks into the room with his wife on his arm, snapping his son out of his thoughts. "You're just a baby!"

"He's turning 16 dear!" Belle protests.

"16? That's far too young to be crowned king!" As he and his wife banter, Ben is too focused on trying to work up the courage to finally tell his parents of the idea he's had.

"Hey mom, dad," he says nervously, prying his gaze from the window. "I um...I wanted to let you both know that I've chosen my first official proclamation."

His parents quiet down, giving him their full attention with an eagerness to know what their son's wishes were.

"I've decided the children of the Isle of the Lost should get their chance...to live here in Auradon."

The previous excitement diminishes as quickly as it came, Belle dropping her son's suit jacket in shock.

"I know what you guys are thinking, I do!" Ben tries to settle the mood a little. "But every time I look out to the Isle, I feel like they've been abandoned!"

"The children of our sworn enemies? Living among us?" Adam asks, his voice taking more of an agitated tone, expressing the way the sudden preposition put him on edge.

"We start out with a few first, the ones that need our help the most. I've already chosen them."

"Have you?" His father growls, approaching him threateningly, but his wife stops him.

"I gave you a second chance," she reminds him, urging him to step back as she takes the reins on the conversation instead. "Who are the parents?"

"Cruella De Vil, Jafar, the Evil Queen, Jack Sparrow..." Ben pauses momentarily, breath catching in his throat, knowing that the final name could possibly become a trigger to his parents. "And Maleficent."

And as expected, the name turns the air of the room sour. Even the man in the back of the room, the one who was previously tailoring the young prince, gasps in absolute mortification.

"Maleficent?!" the king bellows, the increase of volume startling Ben a bit. "She's the worst villain in the land! I won't hear of it! They are guilty of unspeakable crimes!"

"But dad, the children are innocent!" Ben counters. "They're forced to be there because of the things their parents have done! Don't you think they deserve a shot at a normal life?" He looks longingly into his father's eyes, hoping that somehow, he would have a change of heart. Adam looks to his wife, down at the floor, and back to Ben, settling his anger before speaking once more.

"I...I suppose the children are innocent," he relented, sighing and walking away. There's no telling if he was going to process what he'd agreed to or just regret his decision. Perhaps even a mixture of both. Belle walks up to Ben patting him on the shoulders. There's a gleam of pride in her eyes, delighted at the fact that her son was already prepared to stick up for his ideas and what he believed in.

"Well done," she whispers, giving him one last smile before following alongside her husband.

Ben felt good after that, knowing that what he'd been dreaming and wishing for for months now was finally about to become a reality.

The children over on the Isle were finally going to be given a chance. And he would try his absolute best to bring out the good in them.
