After the events in the forbidden forest, Harry had gone quiet, refusing to answer my questions about how he knew of the Sorcerer's Stone.

"You're friends with Snape! I can't tell you!" was all he said as he walked away from me.

...

The next few months were hectic. Harry seemed to grow more and more afraid, particularly of Severus. He had a detention in the forbidden forest and had seen Voldemort. It warmed my heart that he had talked to me about this as I had thought he was angry with me. Over time he opened up to me about his idea that Severus was trying to steal the stone. I tried to assure him Severus would never do such a thing, but Harry seemed pretty set in his idea.

I was standing in the corridor, conversing with Severus, when Ron, Harry, and Hermione walked out of Professor Mcgonagall's office, looking particularly sullen. They hadn't noticed Severus and I standing there as they walked by and I could hear the tail end of their conversation.

"He sent that note! I bet the Minister of Magic will get a real shock when Dumbledore shows up," Harry said. Severus walked toward them, his cloak billowing behind him.

I heard Hermione gasp as she noticed Severus standing behind them. Harry and Ron quickly turned around.

"Good afternoon," Severus said, smoothly. "Now, what would three young Gryffindors such as yourselves be doing inside on a day like this?"

The three children stammered and I began walking closer.

"Careful," Severus's smooth voice began. "People will think you're... up to something," he finished, glaring at Harry. I placed a hand on Severus's shoulder as I came up behind him.

"Now, now, Severus. Not giving my Godson and his friends a hard time, are we?"

Harry, Ron, and Hermione breathed a sigh of relief once they noticed I was there, knowing Severus wouldn't dare do anything while I was there. Severus turned to me, his eyes softening slightly before turning to Harry.

"Be warned, Potter, any more nighttime wanderings and I will personally make sure you are expelled. Good day to you." He turned back to me. "Let's go."

We were walking down the corridor, toward the staffroom when Severus pulled me to the side.

"Why must you always interfere, darling?" his smooth voice asked me as he backed me toward a wall.

"Because, he's my Godson... and you're scary sometimes."

"Oh, really?" he chuckled, darkly. "And... Do I scare you?" he whispered in my ear.

"No."

He brought his hand up to my throat, wrapping around it, though not putting any pressure on it, as his body pressed against mine.

"And now?"

I knew he was trying to fluster me, but two could play at that game.

"No... if anything, I'm..." I began, leaning closer to his ear, before whispering. "Turned on." He groaned in my ear, grinding his hips against mine.

"Oh, really? Turned on, hm? Well... perhaps we can do something about that."
