CHAPTER 29

Nandito ako ngayon sa harap ng study table ko at nakatulala sa screen ng aking laptop. I was supposed to be encoding my speech in Oral Communication but I can't, since my mind won't just stop thinking about that night.

That night... I closed my eyes then sighed.

Isang araw na ang nakalipas mula ng huling naging paguusap namin ni Brent. It was the time when he sent me the flowers and told me that he misses me so much. After that he walked me back to the Sopoc National High School before he left. I wasn't able to talk that time since I was still shock.

I looked over my bed and saw that flowers he gave me. I sighed. I shook my head, trying to take it away from my mind. Gosh, I should focus on my speech first before anything else.

I went back to typing again when a notification pop up. It was the comments from the status I posted yesterday. Zach and I won the second place in the Math Competition. I smiled a bit seeing the comments congratulating us.

After I reacted and replied to some of the comments, I log out from Facebook and starred doing my speech already. I still need to email this to Sir Arman. Ihahabol ko na lang kasi ang activity na 'to since hindi ko nga ito nagawa dahil sa competition. Sir Arman said that I can still pass it that's why I am doing this.

After an almost an hour I already sent my output to Sir Arman's email. Tumayo ako sa pagkakaupo at saka nag-inat ng mga braso. I decided to went downstairs first to grab some snacks since I am already hungry.

I was in the middle of enjoying the sandwich I made for myself when my phone beep. When I check it, it was a message from Rona. She is asking me to go to the mall with them right now.

Agad naman akong pumayag dahil ayoko rin naman na maburyo lang dito sa bahay. I replied and said yes. I finished my sandwich first before I stood up and went back to my room to take a quick bath and change my clothes.

Nagpunta ako sa food court dahil sabi ni Rona ay doon daw nila ako hihintayin. Iniikot ko ang mata sa kabuuan ng food court at saka hinanap sina Rona at Sharmaine.

I smiled then waved my hand when I saw them sitting at the back where there are few people. Rona waved back and signalled me to come over. Nakangiti akong naglakad papalapit sa kanila.

Bahagyang nangunot ang noo ko ng makitang nakaupo sa tabi ni Sharmaine si Zach. I give him a smile when he wave at me.

Nang makalapit ay yumakap ako kay Rona at kay Sharmaine. Nilingon ko si Zach at saka nagtatakang tumingin sa kaniya.

“What are you doing here?” Nagtatakang tanong ko.

“Hindi ba ako puwede dito?” Nakataas ang kilay at nakangising tanong niya.

Natawa ako. “P'wede naman,” natatawang sabi ko.

“Ah kasi Gie...nakita namin siya ni Rona kaya niyaya namin,” singit naman ni Sharmaine sa usapan namin.

I nod my head then smiled. “No problem,” nakangiting sabi ko at saka bumaling kay Zach. “This will also be a chance to celebrate our win.”

He smiled. “Congrats to us.”

Nakangiti ako habang nakatingin sa kaniya. “Thank you.”

“Ehem”

Napalingon ako kay Rona ng malakas siyang tumikhim.

“Tama na siguro ang ngitian at saka tinginan ano?” Nakangiwing sabi niya.

“Tama,” segunda naman ni Sharmaine at saka nanunuksong sumulyap sa akin. “Kain na muna tayo, nakakagutom din eh.”
