Chapter 24

Ryujin's PoV

The championship game is done and I am proud to announce that we have given our seniors the last year like they deserved!

"This calls for a celebration!" Jeongyeon announced

"But it's Wednesday! Yeah, yeah! We know what you're gonna say, Ryujin," Jisu rolled her eyes

"Can you not skip it, love? I mean... it's your victory," Yeji tried to convince me

How I wish I can just say no to the match and come with them. But this is my title on the line. Someone wants to battle me to earn the Alpha title. The title has been with me the moment I stepped in that club. Also, the money is good.

"I-I'll just try to finish my appointment early, guys," I looked at them apologetically and they just nodded

Yeji and I are now in her dorm. I brought her to the dorm before I go to the match because I want to spend more time with her. I feel bad for ditching my friends but this match is crucial. If I will skip this one, they will surely go after Jinhwan-oppa and I don't want to leave him hanging. He's the only one who got me saved.

"What time will I see you?" She asked while we are standing in her doorstep

"Before midnight? Just don't think about it, wifey. Just enjoy the celebration," I said and I pulled her closer by her waist

"Why do you have to go?" She pouted

"Because I've got commitments but I promise you I'll be there, alright?" I told her

"Take me with you?" She offered

She used her baby voice and I just can't resist her doing that. But I can't let her see my downside. She can't know that I'm doing something illegal behind her back.

"You should rest, wifey," I said and I picked a kiss on her cheek

"I'll see you later," And I walked to my car

When I started driving away, I saw how she frowned. I let out a sigh. If only I can quit this shit I am in, I will but I can't.

"Jinhwan-oppa!" I called when I saw him in the parking

"RJ! You were almost late!" He complained

"I'm sorry. I was with Yeji. You know, priority," I chuckled and he tucked me on his arm

"Shut it, RJ! I'm not used to you sounding like a love sick pup!" He laughed

"But I'm happy that you're happy. You deserve that," He continued talking

"Yeah. I just hope she's the one. You know, oppa? If I will be given a chance to escape this hellhole, I gladly will," I told him with a sad smile and he sighed

"Arrange a deal then," Jinhwan-oppa said that made me raise my brow

"What do you mean?" I asked

"It has been a while since someone has challenged another with the title on the line. You will make an impression on the leaders if you will be able to keep your title," Jinhwan-oppa told me and I nodded

"So I can talk to them after that?" I replied

"Yes. I must warn you, that deal will cost you a lot," Jinhwan-oppa said

"Whatever it takes to keep Yeji, oppa. Whatever it takes," I told him and he smiled at me

I got ready and waited. I was watching the matches before mine. Today, I will be going against YJ. He's a tough one to beat. I have never went against him but we both have a clean record. No losses. He challenged me for my title and I have no idea why he wants to take Alpha from me. I have to admit, my title is really cool.
