After getting McDonald's and gobbling it up in the car while ignoring Dominic's chuckles, we reach my mother's house.

I don't even want know what she's going to think when she sees me with Dominic, as his girlfriend, mind you.

My mother has always been the jealous type. For example, if she sees someone who has something better than her, she has to get her hands on it.

She did that for my dad's attention when I was younger and I have no doubt she's going to do it for Dominic too.

Exiting the car, Dom and I walk hand in hand towards my mother's  bright red double door.

I enjoy the October-ish air. It's somewhat refreshing and calming. But despite the slight breeze, I feel warm enough and I think it's because of Dominic's hand.

I hear Dominic knock on the door and it open almost immediately.

My mother stands there in a short dress that leaves almost nothing to the imagination.

I'm not surprised. My mother looks over at Dominic, taking in every detail. Then her eyes roam to mine and I can't help the disgusted look on my face.

"Emily! What a pleasant surprise!" She says, not even trying to cover her fake enthusiasm.

"Dominic, you told me you were bringing your girlfriend. Where is she?" She asks as if she can't see a girl standing right here next to him.

Dominic clears his throat and speak up " She's right here" he says pointing to me.

A look of defeat crosses her face only for a split second before she turns around muttering "unbelievable"

"I made so much of food, I hope you are staying for dinner" she asks hopefully, not even sparing me a glance.

Then I finally speak up "Thank you so much but we have plans don't we Dom?" I ask while nudging him with a smirk.

The corners of his lips tilt up in a small smile before he replys "Yea Ev, so we'll be leaving in a bit" he says directing his reply to my mother.

She looks between us weirdly "What kind of plans?"

"I don't think you'd want to hear it mother" I answer her before Dominic could reply.

Dominic's lips turn up in the corner into a smirk.

"Yeah so we can't stay and eat" he says.

My mother's face holds an expression of shock and disbelief. "Fine" she begins walking to the lounge and sits down.

Dominic and I sit on a couch across from her and he purposely places his hand on my knee. And I swear I feel my stomach flip.

This man is making me feel all sorts of things without even knowing.

"So Evelyn, how have you been since your father's death?" She asks oh so suddenly.

"Good. Dom's been helping alot Thanks for asking" after all this time then she asks.

"That's nice Dominic, thanks for helping my daughter" she says to Dom.

"It's no problem" he says. He sounds like he could be anywhere in the world but here. But honestly, me too.

Dominic looks at his watch "Oh Look at the time baby, we gotta go. We have plans remember?" He smirks.

Dominic walks out the front door to start the car. Just as I am about to walk out, my mother pulls my arm and just by looking at her I can see her hatred for me.

"I know this is just a drama Evelyn" she says "You are not even worthy of a man as good as Dominic" I feel the sting of her nails digging into my arms.

I pull away from her on the first try "Too bad I am worthy of him, and I'll show him how worthy I am" I seethe.

"Do what you want Evelyn, you're not even a legal adult yet. I'm still your legal guardian so enjoy your freedom while it lasts" she whispers as if she's afraid Dominic will hear.

I only have a few weeks for me to turn eighteen, since it's late October, and the process of it will take too long.

But knowing my wonderful mother, she probably doesn't even know my birthday is coming up.

I hear the engine of the car come to life and see Dominic come out of the car and stand at the passengers side.

My mother gives me a wicked smile and shuts the door. I turn to Dominic and head over to the car.

I can see his smirk from all the way across the street.

I stop walking and look up at him. In one swift movement he backs me up into the car. My back against the window of the car, caged by his muscular built.

"So" his voice is husky and low. It's so hot, I love it more than I love looking at his face up close.

"What kind of plans do we have, Evelyn?" He asks with that same low and taunting voice.

My throat goes dry and I swallow but that does nothing to help.  I only said that to make my mum jealous.

"I....uh" the words are stuck in my throat.

"Speak up Evelyn" his smirk makes him look even younger.

"Uh....because..." It's really hard to speak when I can feel his breath fanning over my lips.

"Because?" His hands are now circling around my waist and I feel my legs weakening.

"I wanted to make her jealous" I say softly

"Why Evelyn?" He asks and my stomach churns at the way he says my name.

"I already told you" I whisper, literally against his lips.

His hands tighten around my waist, bringing my body closer to his.

His lips is soft and light and the kiss is a long passionate one with emotions and things we aren't able to say to each other. The kiss tells it all.

I hear a window shut and I open my eyes to see my mother standing at the kitchen window looking at our loving exchange.

We pull away, trying to catch our breaths with silly school girl grins on our faces.

I know that this was a kiss that Dominic will never regret.

After driving to my house, I call Dominic in for some coffee.

When done with his coffee he takes me up to my bedroom, with me clinging onto him, my legs wrapped around his waist and my arms around his neck, our lips never leaving each other.

He gently places me down on the bed and looks into my eyes "Are you sure?"

"Yes"
