Chapter 2 - The Rich Girl

Vi POV-

It's been a few days since those two new students showed up and now I'm forced to be partners with one of them for a project. Like i totally want to be partners with some rich girl who probably only cares about herself.
Right now we're in the library "reading" stuff for the project, I'm just slacking off playing with this orb thing she had dropped.
"Are you going to read or not?" She says. Gotta admit, her accent was kinda cute.
"What do you think cupcake" I said sarcastically
"Don't call me that" she says and I watched as her eyes went to my hand playing with the orb. "Hey don't play with that!" She says snatching it away
"Why not?" I drop my arm and put my head on the table.
"This is a very dangerous item" she replies
"Wow, looks so dangerous" I waved my hands
"This is hextech work, these are used to create weapons" she replies
"Why do you have it?" I ask
"Because a friend of mine makes these, he gave it to me so I can use it when needed" she replies
"Sorta doesn't answer my question cupcake" I say standing up and walking over to sit in the table infront of her. "Why do you have it here? This schools safe" I said leaned on my right arm.
"You can't always be certain of that, 4 years ago-"
"I don't care about 4 years ago, that's in the past." I reply
"Could you get back to your side of the table" she says annoyed
I groan but got up, but before I could sit in my seat, a fire alarm went off. I quickly grabbed her arm and dragged her outside, luckily there's a door in the library to the outside.
"Hey! I could run on my own" she says whipping her arm away.
We get outside and I could see the smoke coming from the third floor, from one of the classrooms.
"An actual fire?!" Caitlyn yells
"We have to move" I said grabbing her hand.
"Stop dragging me around, I can walk well on my own" she says
We get about 100 feet from the school, many students made it out of the school, and after about 30 minutes, just as the fireman arrived, that classroom exploded. Bricks fell around us, and I guess out of instinct I held Caitlyn to my chest and blocked any brick that came flying, to my worst luck. One actually hit me and I got a big gash on my bag.
"Agh!" I shout in pain.
When I peeked over I saw blue bolts come from the explosion, why the hell was there blue bolts.
"Vi! You're alright" I hear powder shout.
"What classroom was that" I ask
"I'm not sure, probably room 303" She replies
"Wait- Mylo and Claggor were in that classroom!" I say trying to run but stopped in pain
"You're hurt?" Powder asks
"I'm fine, just got hit by one of the falling bricks" I reply
"We need to get her to a doctor" I hear Caitlyn say
"Cupcake I'm fine, this'll heal in a few days. Right now.." I look over to the ambulance trucks. "I'm going to figure out how Mylo and Claggor are doing" I say slowly making my way over.
Powder and Caitlyn stayed nearby as we got close.
"How many students do you see injured!?" The ambulance asks the fireman
"About 5 sir, top floor room 303" the fireman replies and they rush inside.
303.... Please be alright guys.
"Vi!" Ekko runs over. "You alright?"
"She was hit by a brick from the top floor, she bleeding on her back" Powder says
"Well a brick from that height obviously, I'm surprised you didn't break you back" Ekko says looking at the wound
"It barely grazed me as one says" I reply
"She needs a doctor" Caitlyn says
"I'll go get one" Ekko says
"No, Ekko, I'm fine really, I've gotten worse" I say grabbing his hand stopping him
"Let me take you home atleast after this" he says
"Sure bud" I say and he gently hugs me
"I'm glad your alright" he says patting my shoulder
"These three need rushed to the hospital. Now!" The men says exiting the building with two men and one girl on the layouts.
I toke a close look and two of them were Mylo and Claggor.
"What's wrong with them sir!" One asks
"Their losing a lot of blood, come on, move. Move!" They rush out and the other two injured people are cared for here.
"We they-"
"Mylo.. and Claggor..." I reply
"How?" Ekko asks
"That's their class, Biology" Powder replies
"Let's get you home" Ekko says worrying about my wound
We start walking and I stop seeing Caitlyn being still.
"You coming cupcake?" I ask
"Oh- uhh" she stays still for a bit then runs over.
"Powder, up front with me, lady in the back with her" Ekko says
"I have a name you know" Caitlyn says
"That's not important right now, we need to get clean up Vi then tell Vander what's going on" Ekko says and we hop in his car.
We drive to my place and they help me inside. Vander came downstairs and started questioning things right away
Powder toke him to the other room to explain things and Ekko went to the bathroom for the first aid.
He hurried back
"Vi, imma need your shirt off" he says
I look at him then sighed and took it off. I look up and see Caitlyn looking the other way.
"What's the matter, never seen a girl with her shirt off? Ah!" I say as I felt the stinging on my back from the touch of the alcohol.
"Hold still Vi, this is deeper than you think" Ekko says
After a while Vander came back
"What happened to Vi?" He asks
"She was hit by a brick, not sure how she got it on her back, but a brick hit her from the third floor" Ekko replies
"She was... protecting me from the falling debris" Caitlyn speaks up
I heard Vander sigh then walked over so I could see him.
"Always protecting people.." he says
"Wonder who I learned it from" I say holding back the pain I had of Ekko cleaning up my back
"Heh, you've got a good heart kid" he says playing with my hair.
"Had a good role model show me that" I say as he walks into the kitchen.
It was silent for a bit, then I felt something like the wound
"Ow! What the fuck" I shout
"Sorry, you had a piece of the brick in the wound, I got it out" Ekko says.
I heard him shuffle through stuff then handed me something
"Take this to the bathroom, your gonna have to take off your bra to put bandages on, have powder help you" He says
"Why can't you, aren't you gay?" I chuckle through the pain
"I am, but I didn't think you'd want me in your privacy" he says
"It's fine dude, you don't have to look, just hold it on and help me wrap it" I say getting up and tossing the shirt on the couch.
We headed to the bathroom and closed the door, I toke off my sports bra and faced the shower, opposite from Ekko. I felt something being placed on my back.
"You ready?" I ask
"Yup" he says
I start it then handed it to him so he can bring it around my back and back to my hand. This continued for about 13 wraps, then he grabbed tape and taped it so it wouldn't come undone.
When I turned to the mirror, you'd think I'm wearing a bandage bra that trainers use.
"Here's your bra" he says
I grabbed it and just tossed it in the clothes basket.
"I'll just put my shirt over it" I reply.
We head out of the bathroom and I walked to the couch to grab my shirt. I felt as if somebody was looking at me so I looked up and Caitlyn was looking. She immediately looked away and I chuckled putting my shirt back on.
"Thanks for the help Ekko" I say
"Yea, anytime Vi" he says sitting at one end of the couch, this kinda gave me no choice but to sit next to Caitlyn since Powder has the seat on the other side of Ekko.
I sit down and we turned on the tv, but I couldn't get Mylo and Claggor off my mind. After about an hour of watching tv, Ekko and Powder went upstairs to play video games. Leaving Caitlyn and I on the couch.
I toke a deep breathe and sighed
"Something wrong?" She asks
"Just can't get two friends off my mind" I reply
"Those two friends who were sent to the hospital?" She asks
"Yea.." I reply.
There was more silence, I looked over then leaned a bit on her shoulder.
"What're-"
"Shhh, don't be so loud, just let me rest my eyes for a bit" I say
She didn't say anything. She just allowed it.
For what was supposed to be "resting my eyes" turned into a nap session for both of us
