When I woke up, I was in a hotel room instead of the car. Racked with confusion, I looked around as I sat up on the bed. "Where...?" I mumbled in a daze, looking until my eyes fell upon Tim, who sat on the edge of the bed watching something on the TV. Seeing him calmed the sense of panic that was growing in my chest.

He must have heard me because he looked back at me. "Oh, we stopped at a hotel to rest for a bit. You were still sleeping, so I just carried you in instead of waking you," he smiled. I sigh softly and smile back.

"Thank you," I lean back against the bed frame board. "So where are we?"

He looked around in a way that showed he was thinking. "Somewhere in Arkansas, not sure where exactly," he shrugged and I just nodded in response.

The hotel room was like the one they had in Alabama, very cheap and dirty. We're definitely using my money to get a nicer one next time.

I stretch out my body, letting out a sigh in relief. A bed certainly feels nice to be in after mostly sleeping in a truck.

"Oh, where's Brian?" I asked, noticing he wasn't around, much to my surprise.

Tim moved back on the bed to sit like me as he spoke, "Went to grab some food. It'll probably just be gas station junk food, though." I let out a soft "oh," now focusing on other things. Such as him being closer to me, and how I can smell the scent of pine and cigarettes on him. What a nice smell.

We just sat together and watched a crappy soap opera that was on TV, relaxing for a while. It was nice.

"Y'know, if different circumstances, you probably would've just been a one night stand of mine and nothing else," I blurt out, not thinking before the words left my mouth. We barely know each other and haven't done anything, why would I say that?

I hear him laugh at what I said. "Really? I can't believe that. It's not like you seem that interested in me," he shrugged it off, looking at me. I just sort of stared at him for a moment, trying to think of something to say. His eyes were pretty, a dark hazel that was mostly brown with only a slight bit of green.

"I like your eyes." I once again spoke my thoughts without thinking. I guess that works though. He just laughed at me again, shaking his head.

"Okay, okay. Random, but thanks." I laugh some with him, suddenly feeling how I am nervous around him. He's attractive, and after being so invested in my work lately, I forgot how to act around people, especially good looking people.

"But you're better looking than Brian, in my opinion. I don't think it should be that hard to believe I'd sleep with you," I offhandedly mention, shifting around to get comfortable. I could almost feel the eye roll he did.

"You don't act like you would."

"Well, that's because I haven't messed around with anyone for a while. Work and all, y'know."

"So that's what holds you back?" He looks at me, an amused expression on his face. I avoid looking at him much, glancing around like some young, inexperienced girl with a soft blush on my face.

"I mean," I nervously laugh, "I've sorta lost my charm with that stuff, so..." I trail off, mumbling at the end of my sentence. I don't know if I'm imagining it or not, but it felt like Tim was getting closer to me.

"What if I haven't?" He softly speaks and I'm pretty sure I could feel his breath on me.

I just stammer over any possible response I could have, not sure what to say or do. "Brian will still be gone for a while longer, you know." His voice was almost a whisper. He had definitely gotten closer.
