Memories of a Battle

"Oh, you're back, I'm glad you both are ok, truly, I am", Riju said, "Naboris is no longer a threat to the town... I'm still worried about the larger threat to Hyrule, but at least my people won't be troubled by Naboris anymore",

"We plan to end the Calamity, but we still have a few things to do before then", Kate stated

"We have to get two more Divine Beasts back before we can do anything else", Link added as Riju nodded her head

"I wish you both the best of luck, and if you are ever in need, the Gerudo will fight by your side", Riju explained

"Thank you", both Link and Kate said in unison, leaving the room and returning back to the plaza of Gerudo Town

"Two down, two more to go", Kate said

"And where is our next stop", Link asked

"Rito Village is north of here, as Death Mountain is on the other side of Hyrule, near Korok Forest", Kate explained, "I'd say we leave Death Mountain last, then we can retrieve the swords as soon as we're done",

"Alright, north it is... now let's go so I can change", Link asked as Kate nodded her head, leaving Gerudo Town, the two went around the corner of the place where Link was able to change back into his normal outfit

"Much better", Link muttered

"Come on, let's go", Kate said with a chuckle as the two left Gerudo Town, "It feels nice to explore Hyrule once again",

"Yeah, it does", Link said as another memory came to him

(Flashback, Somewhere in Hyrule Field)

the sounds of swords clashing could be heard, the screeches of Moblins could also be heard, with the sounds of other monsters, separated from the other Hylian Soldiers, two soldiers were fighting side-by-side

"You know you're going to get in trouble for being out here", Link said, killing a Moblin

"Believe me, if you were in my shoes, you'd want to be out here", Kate stated, later mumbling, "the castle feels more like a prison than home",

"I understand that, but why fight out here, once your father finds out, you'll probably won't be able to go outside again", Link explained

"I know... that's why I don't plan to tell him", Kate said, killing the last enemy in the area, allowing both of them a small breather, "there's times where... I feel like I shouldn't be here... that I was meant for something else... I know I'll never pass as a perfect Queen in the future, but this... it just makes me feel alive, makes me feel like myself again",

"I see... don't worry though, your secrets safe with me", Link stated, "even though we're keeping an even bigger secret from your father",

"If he were to find out, then that's it... but I'll protect you as you protect me out here", Kate said

"Knights Rule, you have my back and I'll have yours, basically any warrior uses that rule", Link said, later looking down at the back of his left hand, "especially this secret too",

"I don't even think he'd believe me if I showed him", Kate said, looking at the back of her right hand, a Triforce symbol was there, the same as Link's, but different parts of the bottom-right triangle were glowing, she'd seen it in Zelda's hand, the bottom-left triangle, the Triforce of Wisdom, the kingdom was still in search of champions who would wield the swords, but they had yet to be found

"I believe if we both showed it to him, he would believe us", Link said

"Doubt it, father's more focused on the Calamity that could come at any time", Kate explained, "Zelda's under pressure too, I even prayed with her at the Spring of Power, it lifted her mood, but nothing...",

"And you're scared she's going to push you away", Link asked as Kate nodded her head

"Zelda and I have been very close, and I don't want that bond to break", Kate said

"It won't, I've seen you two, even when she pushes me away, you and I are alike when it comes to her", Link explained, "we want to keep her safe and help her out, Zelda knows that even though you're locked away mostly, you still love her",

"Yeah... though I owe her big... she covers for me in the castle while I'm out here", Kate stated

"And beings we're out here, we have a battle that's still going on, you ready", Link asked

"Ready as I'll ever be", Kate said as the two ran towards the battlefield, to finish the battle

(Flashback End)

"You would sneak out a lot, even to accompany us on missions, even when we weren't champions yet", Link explained

"Memories", Kate asked as Link nodded his head

"Anything else you can remember", Kate asked as Link thought about it for a bit

"I remember the day you and I pulled the swords out, everyone was in shock but soon celebrated", Link stated, what happened after, and before the celebration is still blank",

"But your memory is coming back, it won't be long now until you remember everything", Kate said with a smile as Link nodded his head with a smile

"What about Sheik, is he going to meet us at Rito Village", Link asked

"...That... I don't know, but I believe so", Kate said

"Alright, Next stop, Rito Village", Link said the two making their way out of the desert and toward the cold mountains of the Hebra Region, toward Rito Village
