"Hold my hand, bug."

"I wanna walk, dadda."

"I know you do, but there's a lot of people around and I don't want you to get lost."

"Okay," her little voice managed to reach his ears despite all of the noise around them.

Her short legs had some trouble keeping up with the lengths her father was walking, but she didn't mind seeing everything happening around her. There were a lot of new and exciting things for a 3 year old to experience, like all of the busy cars and strangers passing by in the shopping center. She had a lot of questions to ask, but her mind couldn't decide which one to ask first.

She got distracted once again with her dad leading the way, strategically maneuvering their closely held hands in between bodies of people. The streets of London weren't too busy, but with the holidays approaching people were starting their gift shopping earlier and earlier each year.

The breeze was strong enough to remind you of the season, bringing along grey skies and frigid air. While you were at home taking a day to yourself, Harry decided to get his Christmas shopping done in one trip with his little one. He wanted her to experience the start of the season as well with all of the glitz and glam of twinkling lights, warm seasonal drinks, and holiday cheer all around. While he could've ordered everything online to make things easier, he liked window shopping and personally selecting gifts instead. Having his little girl with him made it all the better.

When the two weren't popping in and out of shops, they took their time to stroll through the shopping center. He could tell his the toddler was enjoying her time with her father, swinging their hands in the air as she skipped when there weren't a lot of people around. They both ooh'd and ahh'd over each set of decorations on display for each store they passed by, sharing their opinions on which one was the best.

Harry felt his body immediately defrost once they entered the warm candle shop, the light jazz music playing through the speakers making him feel at home. They were greeted with friendly shop workers happily decked out in festive Santa or elf hats. After letting her accept a piece of candy offered to her from a worker, he led his little one to a quiet area to check on her. She munched on it happily while her father tugged on her beanie, making sure it was snug tight.

"Warm enough, bug?" She nodded her head.

He took pride in her outfit for their little date. A tiny puffer jacket that swallowed her up and made her look like the cutest marshmallow, with a beanie that matched the one on Harry's head, only hers with a fuzzy ball at the top. She giggled as he warmed up her pink cheeks with his hands, kissing the soft skin before letting her go.

"What's that, dadda?" A hand pointed up at one of the many candles displayed on the shelf.

"It's a candle. You know the ones with a little fire in the middle mama uses at home?"

She nodded once again at her father's words, curious eyes looking all around the store.

"I want your help picking some out, but I need you to pinky promise me something."

Her little hand immediately lifted up between them, ready to promise her father whatever.

Harry chuckled and linked his pinky with hers, looking into her doe eyes. "Gotta promise to not tell mama, ok? It's a surprise."

"I promise, dadda."

They kissed their thumbs in unison, making them both giggle at the gesture.

"That's my girl."

The process of finding the right candles began. Harry wasn't only gonna buy you candles, but with the gift basket he was curating he wanted to include a few of the best ones. He liked to think he knew the best scents as he liked using them as well, but the range of selections in the candle shop was a little overwhelming.
