JACK
How's your food?
KAITLYN
Really, that's what you care about?
JACK
What? I said I'm sorry.
KAITLYN
We literally sat down and you immediately broke up with me.
JACK
I felt like I shouldn't let it linger on my mind.
KAITLYN
So now it's lingering between us while we sit here in silence and awkwardly eat our food.
JACK
Well, my food is delicious, it softens the blow. Is yours good?
KAITLYN
You could at least explain why you're breaking up with me. I just don't get it.
JACK
Why? Why does there have to be an explanation given behind this? Why can't it just be over?
KAITLYN
Because we have... we had something special. I would like to know where it all went wrong. I'm not exactly holding myself together over here.
JACK
This is hard on me too, you know.
KAITLYN
Yeah, I'm sure. That's why you're done eating your food and ready to browse the dessert menu while I'm here barely touching my food.
JACK
Is it that bad?
KAITLYN
We've been together for a long time Jack.
