Lance was running late to dinner. Coran knew why, but had promised to keep quiet.

"-up with Lance," Shiro was saying, "he seems distant." Allura nodded, "he hasn't tried to flirt with me in a while, almost a whole week!" Hunk shrugged. To be honest, he didn't know why Lance, his best friend, was in a mood.

"He keeps disappearing." Hunk stated.

"I think I can help you there," Coran interrupted, "Number 3 has been helping me around the Castle." It made sense to everyone else. Keith hogs the training room, Pidge never leaves her work, Hunk spends most of his time in the kitchen, Shiro plans with Allura, and what is there for Lance to do without being yelled at. Then Lance came in, completely changing the subject.

Dinner was rather pleasant. The food was amazing. Hunk said that he had been trying out a new recipe. Again. After dinner, Coran handed Lance a box.

"Found these for you. I think you will like them." Curious, Lance peeked in the box. There were some Altean clothes and bottles. One bottle had a note on it. Written in Altean: These are some royal garments in your size. Hope to see you wear them one day. So the others are not suspicious, here are shampoos. Lance smiled, putting the bottle back.

"Thanks Coran."

"It's a pleasure!"

"What's in the box, Lance?" Pidge started being nosy.

"Just some space shampoo and stuff. I was running low." That was true enough, but not the full truth. Thankfully, Pidge bought it. It was something that Lance would ask for.

Based on Coran's note, Lance guessed that everyone thought something was up. Well, something was up, but the time wasn't right yet. He wasn't ready to tell them that he was only half human. Let alone royalty.

When Lance left to put the box of shampoo in his room, the rest of the team- minus Coran- shared a few looks.

"He's acting weird, there wasn't a single pick-up line." Pidge observed.

"Maybe he's just feeling down?" Shiro suggested. Hunk shook his head, "if Lance was feeling down, the goofiness would have been amped up to an eleven." That made Shiro frown.

"He's hiding something." Keith said flatly before leaving. He didn't care that much. Lance had finally taken a break from picking a fight with him. Shiro decided that Lance deserved privacy, everyone had their secrets. He certainly did. Shiro would reach out if he was asked. Hunk never pried into anyone's life (that would be an invasion of personal privacy), but Pidge and Allura vowed to find out what was going on. For different reasons. What was Lance hiding?

Here is the next chapter. We get a small peek of the rest of the team being generally concerned people. Lance better get ready quick, or be on his toes.
