After Granny was admitted to the hospital for a couple days, Kita stayed home from school to take over things at home. His grandmother insisted he go to school but Kita claimed there were too many things to do around the house and in the field to focus on school. Beniha couldn't help because she was working on college finals and Momiji was too young to handle it. Kita would find a way to catch up on school work after Granny got better.

She stayed in the hospital a bit longer because of her age and Kita took care of her everyday. When she was released, only then did Kita focus on his own life again. He used the weekend to catch up on homework, Aran coming over to bring him notes and help him with new material. They began to hang out just like they used to.

Kita thought Aran would be mad at him for the break up, but the alpha wasn't mad at all. Mending their relationship was the only thing he cared about, so they could get back into their routine of affection. It became a must for Kita to have Aran's scent around him, on his bedding and clothes because they only see each other for short periods throughout the day. Without his alpha's scent he got stressed, the pregnancy putting him on edge.

Even a doctor at the hospital insisted he check on the baby because he's been under a lot of stress. Everything looked fine, which was relief for the omega, and Aran finally got to be a part of one of the appointments. He heard the heartbeat, watched the baby move, and his alpha instincts finally kicked in. He's been extra protective since then, finally feeling like the whole thing is real.

The gruff tone the alpha gets every time someone talks to the omega makes him chuckle. Kita knows he'll only get more possessive as time passes but he just wants to keep them safe.

A new week began with Granny out of the hospital and Kita returning to school. She's fine and on bed rest for a couple extra days because of her age.

"Are you going to be okay by yourself all day?" Kita asked his grandmother as he fluffed up a few pillows for her.

"Please, Shinsuke, I'll be fine." She assured him, glancing behind to signal Aran to help out.

"We have to get to school," The alpha gently pulled him away from the bed. "Let's go."

Kita checked to make sure she had water and was comfortable before leaving. "Call if you need something," He let Aran pull him to the front door.

Momiji waited for them by the door so they could walk him to school, too. He's in high school with them now and is anything but ashamed to hang out with his brother at school.

They ate onigiri on the go, something Kita prepared for them the night before. Since he's been so tired, he has a hard time getting up in the morning but still needs to eat because he's always starving. Aran comes over most mornings, or stays the night, to help roust the omega out of bed. It's odd to see Kita's appetite change and sleep any chance he can get.

After onigiri, the couple laced their finger together. Aran leaned over to kiss the corner of Kita's mouth, getting him to turn and give him a salty kiss on the lips.

Their affection has increased, Kita figuring out how much the alpha's attention keeps him sane. He's done a better job at being a good boyfriend, talking more, hugging and kissing more, mindlessly hanging out to enjoy time together like they used to. Not every day Kita feels like he can expend so much energy on their relationship, but Aran understands he still needs days alone. The alpha is patient and either leaves him alone or gives him a shoulder to cry on depending on how upset he feels that day.

Aran slowly saw the Kita he once knew returning; the omega who is strict, caring, logical, ambitious and so much more. He loves him no matter what, but it's better to see him happy. He's missed seeing him smile with happiness.
