I Love That You Don't Love Me

You're the reason I'm longing
For shelter within the warmth of your arms
And someone who will love me
Like the sun loves the moon
And the stars and the sky.

I want to spend every waking hour
Of every single day
Telling you about how gorgeous you are
Until you believe me
Until the words are engraved within your mind
Because they're words that hold so much truth
That it's absurd.

I love how small and fragile and gentle you are
And the way your glasses
Are perched perfectly on your face
I love the few freckles that delicately detail you
I love the way
that you don't love me
The way that I want you to

It's so bittersweet the way
That I sit and listen to you speak
Of every person you find attractive
That isn't me
But I even love that aspect of you

I love that you cause me so much pain
And make me so upset
Because it makes me want to write
More of these horrible poems about you
