Chapter 101 - In Vain

***Freed's p.o.v***

Valenzula stood tall as he brushed himself off from his spot on top of the rubble of the battlefield.

"No..." Lucy shook in shock.

"It's just not possible," Levy shook fearfully.

"You bastard!" Natsu shouted in a rage.

Natsu jumped from his spot on the cliffside down onto Valenzula as a fire raged in his fist. Valenzula only smirked as he easily caught Natsu's fist and lazily threw Natsu aside. Natsu cried out as he was thrown to the ground hard despite Valenzula barely trying.

Thunder cracked in the air as Laxus zapped down to Valenzula with his own attack, but Valenzula caught his attack as well, surprising Laxus before he was blasted away.

"Fairy Machine Gun: Leprechaun!"

"Baryon Formation!" Ever and Bickslow jumped in as they released their own attacks before the rest of the guild and the others joined in as well.

I could only watch as I was too in shock to move not knowing what to do or feel. I was angry and in shock that he was still alive, but also horrified that Rachel... had died for nothing.

Valenzula smirked swiping away everyone's attacks as if they were nothing more than a couple flies in his vicinity.

Natsu shot up in a rage, his whole body lit aflame.

"How?" Ever shook in a rage as tears fell down her face. "How are you still here!"

Valenzula only smirked, "Well wouldn't you like to know."

Everyone charged in a rage, Fairytail upfront taking the lead.

Valenzula lazily raised his hand in front of him, "You all were only a distraction before. Now, you are nothing."

Valenzula blasted his pure dark magic straight at everyone.

Everyone was thrown back to the ground harshly as they struggled to get up from the blast.

"Rachel and Prism died to seal you away..." Juvia started as she and the others stood up.

"You shouldn't even be here!" Juvia yelled as angry tears flew down her face.

Valenzula slowly smirked, "Yes they did, didn't they? Too bad for them, their deaths were in vain, it only made me stronger!"

At that, I finally snapped. Runes glowed beneath Valenzula as he lazily glanced down at them. The runes suddenly exploded beneath him as I quickly changed into my Absolute Shadow form and charged at him.

Valenzula caught my armored hand as the dust cleared to reveal his smirk.

"You take that back," I shook. "YOU TAKE THAT BACK DAMN IT!"

Valenzula only chuckled.

Gajeel, Natsu, Gray, and Laxus jumped above Valenzula to attack while he was pinned, but Valenzula exploded the ground at his feet, blasting everyone away and immediately shattering my armored form.

"The Lotus and her spirit only gave you an edge, but even if they were still here, not even they would be able to stop me now. So you can try as many times as you like but you will learn just like them. Nothing can slay a spirit."

"We don't care," I growled as we stood up.

"We'll keep pounding until it does hurt," Natsu growled.

"For Rachel," Ever voiced.

"And for Prism," Bickslow growled.

"We won't let their deaths be in vain," Laxus growled.
