Requested (long time ago I kinda forgot about it. Sry so I don't remember who requested it)

I'm down at the station again, arrested again, to be honest it's like the fifth time this week. In my opinion they arrested the wrong person. Only thing i did was stand up for the woman who was being harassed by three men, nothing wrong with that. I let down the ice pack from my cheek, feeling it burn so i put it back. At least i'm making sure the police has something to do, they can see it as my Christmas present to them. Damn it's Christmas on friday and i still haven't gotten a gift for my girlfriend, or to Secret Santa that Oliver insisted on having.
"So... y/n, seems like you'll be facing assault charges" Officer Grant says extra easy like i'm a child. I do love the fact that i'm on a first name basis with half the force though. But who's first name is Grant? Still sounds like a last name to me.
"Self defence" i answer and he just looks at me. "Technically it was self defence"
"Just like the other four times earlier this past week?" he asks and i was right, it is the fifth time i'm here in the last seven days.
"Fine, not the first two time but after that i listened to Quintin and tried to use my word instead of my fists"
"Then why are we sitting here again?"
"Because they're men, they can't handle a woman telling them no. I was only trying to get them to leave this girl alone" i explain but like that's really gonna help me. He signs and just as he's about to talk again the door opens. Showing me my knight in shining armor, as graceful as always, and as angry as last time.
"The man has no legal right to charge my client with anything, a few officers interviewed a few witnesses that saw him throw the first punch. Proving that she was only defending herself towards an intoxicated man, so i will be taking my client out of here" Laurel says in a stern voice and i have to hide realising the breath i was holding in. I wouldn't have surprised me if she left me in a drunk cell for the night, not that i'm that drunk but you get the deal. The officer unlocks the handcuffs, releasing my wrists from the table.
Laurel leads me out of the station without a word or even walking with me, she just heads to her car and i follow. It's quiet as we get in the car and drive.
"Tell me what happened?" She cuts off the silence but her voice is still angry. Who can blame her? I would be too if i didn't have such a good reason. But i'm relieved that she didn't start yelling and gives me a chance to tell her before she goes all Lance on me.
"As you know i was out with some of my colleagues and i saw these men hitting on a woman who was clearly not interested. I went over to her, pretending to be someone she knows and tried to get her away from them but they wouldn't listen" i explain, looking at her to see her reaction. But it's dark and i can't really see her face.
"Did you hit him?"
"Yes, but i listened to your father this time and tried to talk to them at first. He did hit me first, with his whisky glas" with the last reveal she pulled over the car to look at me.
"What? He hit you with a glas?" she needs to clarify the information.
"Yeah, it's gonna leave a small scar on my cheek but i'll be fine" As we're still i can see the worry in her face as she looks at me. Her eyes' searching my face to find the cut just under my right eye. Her hand moves up to my cheek and i flinch as she touches it. Now i wish i had kept the ice packet. She takes a deep breath before continuing to drive home to our apartment, making me remember that we're roommates and friends to everyone else.
"It's gonna be fine, we're gonna go home and get some sleep. We'll talk about it in the morning" she says and i look out to the road instead.
"It's Christmas tomorrow Laurel, can't we just forget about it?" i ask, hoping for a Christmas miracle. We step out of the car in front of the apartment house before the answers.
"I can't just forget about it because if this continues i'll be picking you up from the ER or even worse, the morgue and i don't have the energy to go through that y/n" she takes my hand as we start to walk up the stairs. Her words actually shook me enough to silence. It isn't until we get into the living room that she actually turns to me and in the light i see that she even has started to shed tears. I put my hands on her cheeks to wipe them away.
"I'll be more careful, i promise babe" i say and a smile makes it's way upon her face as i lock her eyes to mine.
"I can't lose you y/n, okay, i can't"
"And you won't, i'll always be here whether you like it or not" i kiss her nose, making her let out a small laugh.
"I love you" she says and it's been so much going on the last couple weeks leading up to this that we haven't said it in awhile. I realize i've been quiet for too long when i answer her back.
"I love you too Laurel, always will" i kiss her, tasting the strawberry gloss she has on.
"No more picking you up at the police for Christmas please, i would like to spend the time with you in peace thanks" she says, stopping the kiss. Still out faces so close that her lips touch mine as she speaks.
"Well i do like seeing my knight in shining... suit" i change the last as i see her suit. I mean, she always wears it but this specific one does something to me. Maybe because she's wearing something i bought for her. She has a knowing smirk on her lips that i catch with my own. She is so gonna pay for that.
A/N happy christmas, Hanukkah or whatever you celebrate. Have a great Holliday.
