Roland: Y/N? Y/N, come here for me!

I woke up at the same table I'd fallen asleep on last night. I followed the sound of his voice and found him waiting at the front door. His face had a mixture of concern and pride.

Y/N: Yes, father?

Roland: What exactly were you doing last night when you didn't come straight home?

Y/N: I texted the family group chat, I was out at my friend's house.

Roland: What 'friend' exactly?

Why was he asking so many questions? Did he figure something out?

Y/N: Just a friend... Jackson's house?

Roland: Jackson's home, hmm..? Donatello said you were staying at a hotel...

Y/N: Yeah about that... Okay, why? What happened?

Roland: Oh, nothing happened, really.

He leaned in and started speaking quietly to me so nobody would overhear.

Roland: I'm just wondering who this girl outside asking for you is... As your guardian, I need you to be honest with me... I need to know if you were doing anything sleazy last night...

Y/N: What? Dad, no!

He gestured towards the door and I could see a shadow peeking from under the door.

**Maybe I'm just too tired to think, but I've actually got no idea who that is.**

Y/N: A girl?

Roland: Open the door and find out for yourself.

He stood back and waited for me to go open the door. I hesitated, but he wouldn't let me back out of this one.

**Screw it, they know me by name so I've definitely met them before somewhere... What's the worst that could happen?**

I opened the door to see who it was. I was surprised to see Saber standing there. She was curiously looking all around the porch but looked towards me when she heard the door open. She smiled to see that I was okay.

Saber: Hello, Y/N.

I looked back towards Roland who was still watching me. I stepped outside and closed the door behind me. She stared at me waiting for me to say something.

Y/N: Saber...

Saber: Yes, master?

I wrapped my arms around her and gave her a hug. I was relieved that she was fine after all the madness that had happened. She was caught off guard by my reaction, but still hugged me back.

Y/N: Saber, I'm so relieved to see you. I was worried sick. I promised I would come back for you, but I never did. I'm sorry. Are you hurt anywhere?

Saber: Not a problem. Things would have been fine even if Lancer never ran interference. I am perfectly fine.

**Lancer? That must be Guan Yu, right? So did things go smoothly between Saber and Guan Yu when we left?**

I didn't want to let go of her, but I decided enough was enough and stopped hugging her. I have never been a really emotional person, but something about Saber drew mine out. I wondered if it had anything to do with the spiritual and magical link between a Master and a Servant.

Saber: I apologize for worrying you.

Y/N: Don't be. I'm the one who needs to have more faith in you.

I looked her up and down. She had an innocent-looking face, but her body build made it clear that she wasn't a pushover.

Y/N: I just see that look on your face sometimes and feel that you need to be protected. It's a way of thinking I've never been able to shake. I don't know why I keep underestimating you...
