*Winter POV*
I woke up and I had no idea where I was. Then I remembered I was in the spare Zack's parents had at their house. I pulled the duvet off me and trudged to the door and walked down the stairs.
"Well, good morning sunshine." Zack chuckled as I was descending the stairs.
I gave him a look that I couldn't quite place, and went to the cabinets in the kitchen. Now I was 4'11 and the cabinets were at least 3 feet over my head. I looked at Zack with as I called it, 'the look of despair'. He shook his head laughing once again and opened the cabinet that had pop tarts in it. He handed a pack to me as he got one for himself also.
"Guess what today is?" Zack said before he shoved a piece of pop tart in his mouth.
"Is today some special day. Like the first day of winter or something?" Then I realized what I just said.....it WAS the first day of winter. And it was also my birthday. I mentally facepalmed myself and looked at Zack. "Well you got something to say to me?" I said with an innocent smile.
"Yes. Happy birthday Win." He gave me a nickname....no one has EVER given me a nickname. Alex, Jack, and Rian came in the door coming up the stairs. Jack tripped and fell, where Alex fell on him, and Rian made it up safely. Jack was whining while I was laughing my ass off.
"Happy birthday Winter!!" They said in unison. I smiled. It was nice having people care so much about me. I hugged all 4 of the guys. Honestly, I wasn't having much of a nice day. I woke up and I get upset, like I wanted to cry or scream. Knowing they cared subsided that feeling for a little while then it came back and I felt like I was going to throw up because of the force it came back at. I didn't, but I was close to it. I pulled away and sat back done on the breakfast stool, not sure if my face was easy to read or not.
*Jack's POV*
After Alex tackled me on the stairs and we got up, I could tell Winter was upset, even if she was laughing, and after the hug her face was just full of pain, like she'd been kicked in the stomach. As soon as I thought that she started holding her stomach then she ran to the bathroom and slammed the door shut. I followed her slowly but hastily, and knocked on the door asking if I could come in. I heard a slight mumble of a 'sure'. I walked in and sat next to a puking Winter. I had never seen her like this but I instinctively knew what to do. When she was finished she brushed her teeth, and I carried her to the living room couch and laid her down on it with a blanket and pillow. She was still talking to everybody but she was barely speaking over a whisper. Me and The guys were planning to take her out, but I didn't want to do that to her if she wasn't up for it. We were going to go to Laser Tag and then get pizza at the Dominos around the corner. Afterwards, me and the guys were going to bring her to my parents house and give her a surprise party. I looked at her face and she looked quite pale. I decided it would be best if we didn't. I was supposed to bring it up and the guys looked at me as if they knew what I was thinking. I'd tell them later tat we could just give her her presents later and maybe some cake if she wants any. Rian brought up the idea of us having a movie marathon and maybe going for a walk in the park. Winter smiled and nodded her head frantically. He had already connected to her on such an emotional level that even he knew her favorite things.I barely knew her favorite colour. So it was settled. The whole day we watched Disney movies, and then went for a nice little walk around the community park. When we got back, Winter received our presents. She opened Rian's to find a charm bracelet with a skull and a music note charm already added. Her face was priceless when she opened Zack's, a pile of books. She opened Alex's and saw a guitar pick and a note that read "you already know how to play the drums, but I thought I would teach you how to play guitar. Happy birthday darling-Alex" When she opened mine, her face was awesome she had the biggest smile. I had gotten her a blue acoustic guitar, so that me and Alex's gifts coincided. She gave each of us big hugs and thanked us all before going to her room to put them away. When she came back down, we had set up a little cake for her and us and our parents were standing around it. That night she was so happy, she fell asleep on Alex smiling.
