"Zayn, I appreciate you being nice to me, but I really don't need your sympathy. I just ask that you pretend that day never happened."

He narrowed his eyes at her. "Well I can't just forget it."

"Try to," she said a little more stern because she really just wanted him to let it go.

"I love you," he said.

"Stop," she replied. "You have Perrie, you don't need me."

"I'll always need you," he mumbled, grabbing her hand. "I can be myself around you, when no one's watching and it's so...refreshing."

Her heart fluttered but her mind fogged. It was useless.

"I'm sorry Zayn, but I don't think I can speak with you anymore."
