Chapter Three - Meeting a new friend!

Serena's POV:

Serena felt the ocean breeze go through her hair. It felt so nice to ride on a boat like this.

"Isn't this nice?" Asked Serena to her Pokémon.

"Pancham!"

"Braixen! Brai!"

"Sylveon!!"

Serena smiled at her happy Pokémon who were also enjoying the boat ride as much as she was. She then felt her stomach rumble a bit.

Serena hasn't ate since...

She tried to think when she ate last. She did eat a bag of peanuts on the plane, but that was about it.

"Sir?" Asked Serena, turning her head to the man, who was controlling the boat.

"Yes?" He asked. He enjoyed having company on the boat other than being with his Peeko.

"Do you know about any good café's?" Asked Serena.

"Hm..." Said the man, thinking.

"There is this nice café near Littleroot town. I heard they serve nice sandwiches."

"Oh really?" Said Serena. "That's great!"

Serena looked down to her Pokémon.

"Did you guys hear that?" She spoke.

"We are going to get sandwiches!" Said Serena excitedly, pumping her fist into the air.

Her Pokémon cheered, also excited to get some food.

"Land ahoy!" Said the man, as he stepped out of the boat, helping serena get out of the boat, too.

"Thank you so much!" Said Serena.

"It is my pleasure!" Said the man, smiling.

"Which way is it to the café?" Asked Serena, looking around where she was.

There are some cozy-looking log cabins with some tall grass, and nice, tall, trees. It was a comforting sight.

"Just walk down the path there, and you will find a building with a sign. Do not worry, you will know which building is the café once you get there." Said the man, pointing to the path.

"Alright, thank you so much!"

Serena walked down the path through the forest. It was pretty, with the tall grass and trees everywhere, and it was fun to find a puddle and jump in it every once in a while.

"Oh look, it's a pond!" Said Serena, looking down into the pond. It was filled with Magikarp and a couple of Goldeen, too. Serena smiled, and motioned to her Pokémon that they should continue walking.

"So this must be Littleroot town!" Said Serena, looking around the tiny town.

The man was right. The café was quite noticeable. Serena walked in through the door, causing a little jingle.

She looked around, admiring the cute log walls and counters, then looking at their display of sandwiches.

"These all look so good!" Said Serena. "I just can't choose which one to pick..."

Suddenly a girl with light brown hair and a red bandana walks up to Serena.

"Hi!" Said the girl, smiling at Serena.

"Oh, uh, hi!" Replied Serena.

"Are you new here?" Asked the girl.

"Yeah, I am!" Said Serena, happy to meet someone her age. "I came from Kalos!"

"Kanto?" Said the girl.

"No, I came from Kalos, it's a more modern region, you could say." Explained Serena.

"Oh, I see!" Said the girl. She then paused. "I'm May!"

"Nice to meet you!" Said Serena, smiling. "I'm Serena!"

"That's cool!" Said May. "So I see you are looking at these sandwiches?" She asked.

"Yeah... I don't know which one to choose!" Said Serena.

May giggled.

"I would recommend the BLT!" Said May, pointing at a sandwich in the display. "It's my favorite!"

"Is... Is it good for Pokémon too?" Asked Serena, looking down to her Pokémon.

"Of course!" Says May. "I feed it to my Pokémon all the time!"

"Alright! I'll get it then!" Said Serena, going over to the cashier at the counter to order her food.

Serena, May, and Serena's Pokémon were all eating their BLT's at a table in the café.

"Sooooo..." Said May. "What do you do?"

"What?" Said Serena, confused.

"Like what do you do? Are you a Pokémon trainer?" Asked May

"Oh!" Said Serena. "I participate in Pokémon contests!"

"Really?" Said May. "Me too!!"

Both Serena and May laughed.

Once everyone finished their food, Serena returned her Pokémon into their poke balls and the duo walked to the Pokémon center.

"Hi nurse joy!" Said May with a smile. "Can my friend and I rent a room?"

"Of course!" Said nurse joy. "A bunk bed? Or a queen size bed?"

"A-A bunk bed, please!" Said May.

Nurse joy handed May the key for their bedroom, and May motioned to Serena to follow her upstairs to their room.

"Room 204!" Said May happily. "This is it!"

"Yep!" Said Serena, following her new friend into the bedroom.

The two girls changed into their pajamas and went to their beds.

"I call top bunk!" Said May, already climbing up the ladder.

"Okay, I'll take the bottom bunk then!" Said Serena, pulling the covers over herself.

"Goodnight, Serena." Said May. "Have a good sleep!"

"You too!" Replied Serena, closing her eyes.

In a matter of seconds, Serena was out cold. Today was an exhausting day for her, anyway.
