kaeya is no longer afraid to die, when his mother does.it's even worse that the last thing she said to him was the word, 'live'. she couldn't even say it properly if she wanted to, choking on her own blood. her hands dug into his unnaturally pale skin as she cried and sobbed into his chest; his body painted a deep red with his mother's blood and it burnt into his memory like diluc's embers.
he stood there, still as stone in pure unshakeable shock as he watched her bleed out. only when she stopped moving did he fall to his knees and screamed so loud and raw his throat gave out, until there was no sound left in his tiny body.
his father had to pull him away to latch him off of her lifeless body.
