"What are they doing up there?"

"Who?" Elisa asked as the girls pointed up the hill near the fields as she took a step closer to see you and Jack while he pulled you against him

"Seems like they are having fun"

"Seems so" Elisa then said before she silently turned back around and walked off

"You seem happy today"

"What makes you think that?" You asked looking up to see Jack standing there with the stick he always carry around during his tasks with the goats

"You've been acting like this all day, what has gotten you in the mood?" He asked as he sat down next to you

"Oh nothing, can I just be happy without a reason?" You asked

"I was hoping for another answer but I guess that's fine too" he said as he laid down in the grass

"These past few months have been the best moments of my life" you said aloud as he just closed his eyes silently

"I would do anything to keep it that way" you then continued

"Then let's not change it" he finally spoke looking over at you when you laid down beside him

"..I don't ever want to" you said back

"..I hear hesitation" he then said making him sit up as you just looked up at the sky

"Well, I mean.. I don't ever want to.. but we do have to move on in our lives.." you said drifting off those words as Jack just stayed silent before standing up and holding out his hands making you sit up and look at him confused before taking it as he pulled you up against him

He intertwined his hand into yours as his other hand was placed at your waist

He then pulled you off with a little spin before tugging you back against him, slow dancing, that's what it was

You placed your free hand on his shoulder

"Then let's move on in our lives.." he simply said when he leaned you back as he whispered in your ear

"Together"

And with that he pulled you back up as you two took little steps back and forth together

"W-what do you mean by that?" You asked in a little stutter due to the amount of blushing that was being occurred due to his actions

"We can grow older, get married, have a family together" he answered making you even more flustered than before

"We're almost eighteen, at that point, we can make our own decisions without being forced to do what is told" he continued

"That's a little too fast, don't you think?" You asked

"We've known each other for years, and we've been together for a little while now, I think we're slowly getting to that point"

"Do you really mean that?"

"Of course, no jokes this time" he said with a little laugh

"You always joke around" you scoffed

Before he could say anything further, his voice was called from a distance breaking the closeness between you and him as he took a step back

"Sorry, I have to go" he then said before taking another step back to leave as he stopped himself immediately afterwards

"What's wrong?" You asked noticing his actions before he turned back around to face you as he then went over to kiss you on the cheek

"Thought that I should have done that" he said softly before giving you a small smile as he turned and ran off back down towards the village leaving you standing there silently in thought for a while

"Hey (y/n)!" A voice shouted as you looked behind you to see Elisa running up

"Oh, hey.. what's going on?" You asked confused considering the fact that Elisa rarely ever talks to you

"Well~ now that you mentioned it, I have been asking around to see everyone's thought of me possibly asking Jack to be my partner for the winter festival that is coming up soon"  she asked aloud as you stopped in your tracks

"What?"

"Oh, did you want to ask him to be your partner? If so I'll let you.. I wouldn't mind" she then said looking back at you as she tilted her head a little with a sad yet disappointed look appearing across her face as you just looked at her silently in thought

"I- No.. I wasn't planning on asking him.. nor would I ever think that he would ask me considering that he hasn't yet.. besides, he's my best friend, obviously nothing more is going on between us to ever make me want to ask him" you then spoke up a bit nervously with a little laugh

"So that's a no?" She questioned as your shoulders rested

"Yes- I mean no! No, I wasn't going to ask him to be my partner, I only meant yes to answer your question that I wasn't going to" you then shouted frantically before calming down after finally getting your answer more cleared out

"Oh, well that's good, Just might ask a couple more people around here to see what they think before I do, after all, everyone knows my huge crush on him"

"Yeah, I'm surprised that he, himself haven't noticed.."

"Right? Well anyways, thanks for your support, you don't seem like you are really wanting me to ask even though you insisted, besides, you two are only just the bestest of friends, nothing more, right?" She then asked causing you to go silent before giving a small nod as she just patted your shoulder with a little smile as she turned to walk off

"Right.."
