The next day, I was dusting the area. It was December 20th. Honestly, I get a good pay from this job. It's good for supporting my family. Glad I could find some job to help.
I felt much more comfortable than I did before. The silence was interrupted by a voice which was directed towards me. "Cleaning up?"
I looked over and saw Noelle. "Yeah,"
"Alright then. I'll leave you at that." She's a bit more calmer now than usual.
"You busy or something?" I asked her.
"No, I finished my task so I'm bored now."
"O-Oh, okay." I was nervous talking to her. Do rich girls like her even bother to speak with poor guys like me? Probably not.
"A-anyway..." She sounded nervous too. "I was wondering if I... uh... can help with--" But before she could finish, the door opened. We both looked and we saw Magna holding the door open. "Hey! Don't sneak up on us like that, you cretin!" Noelle hollered at Magna.
Magna glared at her. "Sneaking up on you? I just walked in, you idiot." He rolled his eyes. He the let his foot hold the door open as he pushed something into the room. It was Luck... he was discharged, and in a wheelchair. I was happy to see that he's fine.
"Oh, you're back?" I asked.
"Yeah, and he's doing fine. Kind of had to go through the trouble of me taking him all the way here though." Magna sighed with a slight smile.
Luck opened his eyes and looked at us. And as expected, he was bursting with energy. "Oh, hello guys! How have things been?" He smiled.
I smiled back. "Oh we're doing great."
"Alright!"
"Luck, just try not to waste too much energy. You need that energy to help your leg heal more effectively." Magna told him.
"Okay," Luck nodded and rested back on the chair. He looked a little tired.
"I'll take you to the room now. You can rest up and I'll get you something to eat. And don't worry about the deadline, I took care of it." Magna informed him.
"You did?"
"Yep."
"Okay!" Luck began looking a bit sleepy and let out a yawn. I've never seen him look so tired before. Maybe it's the injury giving him the drowsiness.
"Alright, in the room you go." Magna gave out a little chuckle and pushed Luck's wheelchair down the hall.
Noelle and I watched them go. After a few minutes, I turned to her. "So... what was it that you were going to ask me?"
She blushed and her face turned red. "I-It's nothing...!" She stuttered.
"Oh, okay." I wonder why her face is so red... but I won't comment. It's probably in embarrassment anyways. But what could she be embarrassed about...? I don't think I'll ever grow to understand girls.
I picked up the duster again, realizing that I must have dropped it while everything was going on. I then began dusting again. Noelle didn't seem to move from where she was standing. It's like she's watching me. I turned to her again and asked, "Need anything?"
She blushed again and looked away. "Oh sorry, I didn't realize that I was staring..." She then muttered the last part of her response, "...cretin."
I sighed and began dusting again. Noelle then appeared to have left the room to check on other things. All's going well.
