We all looked towards the door, and saw the CEO looking at a tall guy, with yellow-amber eyes and pitch-black hair. His eyes illuminate his whole face. Hang on... I think I've seen this guy before...

He's the same guy who I accidentally crossed paths with earlier! The rich-looking guy who couldn't tell that I had no magic! Would he still remember me? There's no way he can't, right?

The guy walked towards us, after giving an ever-so-small gesture to the CEO. "Hey! Do you remember me?" I asked him.

He stared at me with his eyes narrowed. "Who are you, again?"

Those words were like a needle piercing through my heart. "I–"

"WHAT THE HELL?! WHAT MADE YOU SUDDENLY DECIDE TO SHOW UP ALL OF A SUDDEN?!" Magna was probably so shocked to the point where he didn't realize what he said was repetitive.

"What? So I shouldn't come on New Years? That's dumb." The guy told him. I didn't know he worked here... but after I figured out Noelle worked here, it shouldn't be a surprise. So he was the one they were talking about... I wonder what he does here.

"So you finally decided to show your face and actually do your job? It's been a while." Magna sounded pretty mad about it, but the guy, Grinberryal I take it, was calmer than a sea clam.

"Well, I'm the stage manager." The guy said calmly.

"Stage manager my ass! Decides not to come every fricken day of the year until today. Someone else should've been hired." Magna snapped.

"Just deal with it, delinquent."

"I'M NO DELINQUENT!" Magna angered.

Luck decided to break the tension before it's too late. "Hey, Magna? Can you wheel me over outside of the backstage? I want to see things clearer."

"Alright. Asta, wanna come? I might need you later." Magna said as he walked to the back of Luck's wheelchair to push it.

"Sure," I said as I followed them out of the interior.

As Magna wheeled Luck out of the backstage area and down the ramp, CEO Novachrono came over and stood in front of us with a wave. "Ah, isn't it our top-most hardworking employees and our new rookie?" He smiled.

Luck stiffened and looked down. "Do I even still count as a top employee anymore? I can't even do my job now that I can't walk..." His voice sounded so upset, yet he still had a weak smile on his face.

The CEO bent down to Luck's level. "Look, you're always going to be one of the two top workers here, no matter what. And that's not a biased statement at all. I'll still find a way for you to work here, despite your broken leg. You can still work, it's just that, until your leg heals, Asta would be taking your place with doing the lighting throughout shows. But you can still do all the planning in the state that you are in."

Luck looked up back at him. "Right..."

The CEO nodded to him before standing up straight again. He kindly gestured to the three of us and walked away. Magna looked down at Luck. "Luck, he's right. There's nothing to worry about. No one can truly take your place here, and you're doing your best. That's all that matters. Now c'mon, I'll wheel you offstage so you can get some rest before tonight's event." I followed them offstage and Magna set Luck's wheelchair beside a seat. "Don't worry, Luck. Try to rest here until we're done with the final preparations. C'mon, Asta." He gestured to me with his hand and I followed him backstage.

All of this will definitely be worth it for sure.
