"Allison!" Tory exclaims, running up to me.

"What?" I say, as I gather books from my locker.

"My friend, Josh is throwing a party tonight. So we're going to go," she says.

"Who's Josh?"

"He's a senior. He throws a bunch of parties and his house is huge!"

"We have practice, in case you forgot."

"No we don't. We don't have practice Fridays," she says. "Sooo? Will you go?" she asks.

"Fine," I say, slamming my locker shut. Tory and I both have English next so we walk together to the classroom. We sit down next to each other in the back of the room.

"Hey, I have something to tell you," I say, smiling.

"Listening."

"So, yesterday after practice, Robby stayed at my place for a bit." Tory looks me in the eyes. "And, well, we kissed."

"What! You kissed him! No way," she says loudly, shaking me eagerly.

"Shhh. Not so loud," I say.

"Only a few days in the Valley and already?! Go you, Alli! I'm so proud!" she hugs me.

"Ok, you can stop now," I laugh.

Tory and I arrive at the party together. We walk into the house and it's packed. I can recognize some people from our school but I don't know who most of the other people are. The lights are dim and there's loud music playing from speakers. There are a bunch of people dancing and talking.

"Tory! What's up?" a tall, black haired teen says, walking up to us.

"Josh! Hey!" she says, hugging him. "Josh, this is Allison. She's new to the Valley. Allison, this is Josh."

"Hi!" I say. "Cool house."

"Thanks," he says. "Oh, Allison, you should meet my friend, Brody."

"Oh...uh- sure." He calls his friend, and a blonde teen comes running over.

"This is Brody. Brody, this is Allison," Josh says. Brody looks me up and down and smiles, but I just smile back awkwardly.

"Nice to meet you, Allison," Brody says. "Do you girls want something to drink?" he asks.

"Yea, sure, that would be great," Tory says. Brody comes back with 2 red plastic cups. It's hard to see what the liquid is because it's dark inside the house.

"What drink is this?" I ask.

"Just try it," he says. I look at Tory and she looks and me. She takes a sip, so I do too. It tastes fruity, but I can tell 80% of this drink is pure alcohol. It wasn't bad though, so I took a few more sips. I look at all the people dancing, and it looks fun so I take Tory's arm and drag her to the people dancing.

"Come on, let's dance!" I say, pulling Tory into the center where everyone's dancing. It's been a while since I've been to a party and I forgot how much fun they are. Tory and I are having the time of our lives and we sing/yell the lyrics to the songs that play. After we feel tired from dancing and singing, we head to the kitchen for another cup of whatever we drank was called. Brody is also in the kitchen, and we start talking while Tory talks with Josh. Brody and I talk for a while. He smiles while I talk, even though I don't even understand what I was saying myself. I kind of just mumble and slur words that come out of my mouth as my hair falls in front of my face. Brody takes a piece of my hair and brushes it behind my ear.

"Allison?" a voice from behind Brody says. Brody turns his head around.

"Robby! You're finally-" I start.

"Don't," he says, turning around and walking away.

"What's wrong?" I ask, following him. I put my hand on his shoulder in attempt to turn him around, but he keeps on walking. "Robby, stop!" I say loudly, but I doubt he even heard me with the loud music playing and people talking. I grab his arm tightly and drag him into a small hallway. I open the first door in the hallway, but there's a couple making out, so I open the door to another room, and luckily it's free.

"What's wrong?" I ask, dragging Robby inside.

"What's wrong? All that bullshit yesterday and now you're off flirting with some senior?" Robby says angrily.

"I wasn't flirting! Brody and I were just talking!" I say, slurring my words.

"Oh, yea. Because running one's hands through a girls hair is just talking," he says sarcastically.

"Ugh- come on Robby! He did that to me! It's not like I was touching him!" I say, taking a few sips of my drink that I still have in my hand.

"What are you drinking?" he asks, snatching my cup.

"Hey!" He takes a sip of my drink and looks at me.

"Allison, how many cups of this did you drink?"

"Uh- like 5. It's really good," I laugh. Robby rolls his eyes.

"Gosh, you're drunk," he says. "Cmon, you're going home."

"No! Let's dance first!" I laugh.

"Another time," he says. He wraps his arm around my waist as we walk through the crowded hallway towards the front door. We make it outside, where there are tons of cars parked.

"Allison!" I hear someone behind me yell. I turn around. It's Brody. "Where you going?"

"Home," I say. Brody looks at Robby.

"Who are you? Are you the boyfriend or something?" he laughs.

"Ugh. Leave us alone," Robby says, and we turn around and start walking away. Brody moves so he's standing in front of us. "Move," Robby says, but he stays put. "What's your problem?" Robby asks. We try walking around him but he still moves to stand in front of us. Robby removes his arm from around my waist and I can tell he's mad because he clenches his fists.

"Robby, don't!" I say quietly as I know what's about to happen, but it's not use. Robby punches Brody right in the nose. Everyone outside directs their eyes towards us.

"Allison! There you are!" Tory says, running up to me in a zig zag line. She's obviously drunk too. She looks down at the guy who's laying on the ground with blood on their face. "Robby! What did you do!" Josh, who's following Tory, runs to us.

"What the fuck is going on?" Josh says, looking down at Brody. He then looks at Robby, and realizes that he punched him. Josh then punches Robby in the face. He doesn't fall to the ground, though, he just stumbles a bit.

"Damn, you're weak!" he laughs. Robby punches him in the face and he falls to the ground instantly, his nose bleeding, too. Josh and Brody are both wining on the floor in pain. I thought that Tory would be mad that Robby hit Josh, but she bursts out laughing instead.
"Where's your car, Allison?" Robby asks.

"Around the corner," I say. When we arrive at the car, I get my keys out and unlock the car. Then, Robby snatches the keys out of my hand.

"Yea, you're not driving."

So, Robby drove, I got shotgun, and Tory was asleep in the back seat. For the entire ride, I couldn't stop looking at Robby and his nice side profile. Robby's hand is resting on the armrest, and I couldn't help but move my hand towards his and intertwine our fingers. He looks at me and smiles, and I smile back.

I open the door to my house, and Robby, Tory, and I head up to my bedroom quietly. We turn on the lights in my room. Tory and I collapse on my bed and we start laughing for no reason.

"Shhh! You guys are going to wake up Allison's mom," Robby says, and Tory and I put our hands over our mouths to stop laughing.

Robby takes our shoes off for us and puts the blanket over us. After Robby turns the light off, Tory and I fall asleep immediately and Robby leaves.
