The Smile of a Chameleon

Love and Appreciation

As usual, the breakfast was bright and cheerful the Madrigals talking about various things. right now the main conversation was what the weather was gonna be, you watch the little fight as you hold Camilos hand under the table and eat some fruit with the other
"No, listen Bruno. if I say it's going to rain obviously it's going to rain today! did you not see what happened at my wedding hmmm" you heard Pepa say a cloud forming above her head
"Awww come on now Mi Cielo you know Bruno didn't mean it" you watched as Felix calmed his frustrated wife by giving her a kiss before feeding her some Dragon fruit with a smile
"ya ya... I'm sorry, I didn't think you were that nervous for your wedding" Bruno apologized not wanting all the good food to get wet from Pepas rain. you and everyone else was relieved to see Pepa was now completely calm thanks to her husband Felix. what worried you still was that Dolores had not come down for breakfast yet, which was odd seeing she was always there. you look up to see Julieta giving you a soft smile before she started to talk to you
"You know what sweetheart, you really help us these days. you really do help out the whole family" you heard Julieta say to you with a sweet smile, you blush feeling very appreciated
"sure, but mostly Camilo though. I don't get how you keep him in place for so long" Luisa teased giving both you and Camilo a wink.  before you know it the whole family was contributing 
"Julieta and Luisa are right, you are such a sweetheart,  just what we needed for our bebé Camilo" you heard Abuela say and before you could even say anything back you turn to Camilo
"Abuela! really?" you could see the other was embarrassed squeezing your hand gently
"What I think Julieta is trying to say is..." Felix started looking over at his wife with a soft smile
"That we really appreciate you... not just as Camilos partner... but like another child..." Pepa says and now it was your turn as your cheeks turn the same colour as Isabellas pink flowers
"And like our sibling!" Both Mirabel and Isabella say at the same time, they glare at each other for a second with a look that said 'hey I wanted to say that first'. you feel a little tug on your arm to see Antonio there Mr.Cheese on his shoulder both of them staring at you with bright eyes
"And the bestest of friends ever! even better than Mr.Cheese... sorry Mr.Cheese but you always steal my food" Mr.Cheese looked at Antonio then nodded. you feel your eyes start to tear up from all the sudden love. you turn to feel Camilo gently wiping your tear
"And the best partner anyone could ever ask for... but of course, you already knew that didn't you?" he said gently kissing the top of your head. you couldn't help but smile a happy tear rolling down your cheek.

Before you know it the whole family was around you and Camilo in a huge group hug. you hear Antonio let out a little squeak as he got squished in the middle
"Tio Agustin! you are squishing me with your hug!" he said trying to wiggle free. you turn and watch as Agustin picks Antonio up placing him up on his shoulder
"oh come on Antonio, I know you love animals you have to be used to Unbearable hugs... and I would be lion to ya if I said I wasn't squishing you on porpoise" you watch as everyone slowly backs away and looks at Agustin there faces deadpan. they were all so used to his awful dad jokes it was just embarrassingly awful. you look over to Camilo who had a bright face and hugged him tighter pleading him not to add to the puns
"Well Well Well, Toucan play at that game Tio Agustin" Camilo says a proud smile on his face. you gently bonk him in the head and was about to say how awful that joke was before Felix had come and wrapped his arm around Camilo and you looking at the rest of his dead faced family
"Well... this got Hawkward" there was a few moments of silence before Julieta had finally broken and started laughing as she went and hugged Agustin
"Gosh I can't believe I fell in love with your awful puns" she said as she kissed her husband's cheek. everyone else was rather quietly giggling or smiling and shaking their head in a joking manner not wanting to admit that all the jokes were funny. Camilo was just hugging you from behind gently swaying you side to side as he watches his chaotic family. you gently kiss his cheek and thank him for inviting you over for breakfast
"of course anytime Mi Vida~ now where is Dolores she wanted to talk to you-" and as if Camilo had summoned her she walked out of the Casita with a disgusted expression on her face. worried you asked her why she looked so traumatized. she looks you dead in the eye
"I heard every one of those puns.... they were so bad... the worst part is I have heard Agustin practicing those puns by himself just in case he needed them for times like this" she whispered to you and Camilo. the three of you look at each other then Agustin before quietly giggling

"anyway I'm stealing your partner for a second, sorry Camilo~" she said before taking your hand and running into the Casita. surprised you follow her and wave bye to Camilo for the time being. you watch Camilo look very confused but wave back. you let Dolores pull you along and into the bathroom locking the door. you look confused and ask what she needed, you thought that maybe she just wanted to ask you something about your work schedule
"Ok... so I heard you talking to yourself last night trying to figure out a cute date idea for you and Camilo... and since he is my brother I got you two something cute planned out you might wanna try" she said smiling waiting for you to accept the offer. you blush a bit knowing Dolores had known all the stress you had been going through to plan a cute date idea with Camilo. you nod telling her that you would love to hear the idea she had. with a small happy squeak, she starts talking about the cute plan she had. you sit down on the edge of the tub as she started talking
"ok ok! so I don't know if you know but Camilo lovesss being creative, so I was thinking you two could go down to the pottery shop near the river. just think how cute that would be, you would be making your own personal bowls or vases for each other. Ooo Ooo and once you are waiting for the Pottery you make to boil, the two of you can go pick some Mangos together seeing they are in season. so what do you think? cute right?" she said letting out another happy squeak. you look at her and nod excitedly as you spring to your feet and hug her thanking her for such an amazing idea! how did you not think of it before, Camilo would love pottery!
"w-well you are very sweet... I'm just glad I can use my power for something cute" you tell her that her powers were absolutely saving your life, and watch as her smile brightens.
"I'm only wanting the best for you and my little brother... now don't waste your time here go find your boyfriend and get your butt over to the pottery shop"  you thank her one more time giving her a little squeeze before rushing out the bathroom sliding down the stairs seeing Casita had made it into a slide. you laugh and thank casita as well as you go outside looking for Camilo

once you go outside you see Camilo still stuffing his face with food and giggled running up from behind and hugging him. he looks at you and swallows the food he had in his mouth
"looks like someone is excited huh? what's up Mi Amor?" he asked gently ruffling your hair. excited about the day you hold his hand basically bouncing on the spot, you explain to him that you have an amazing date idea you wanted to do today
"oh? a date you say? of course, where did you wanna go? seeing how excited you look it must be somewhere amazing~" he said gently kissing the top of your nose. you giggle and shake your head telling him that it's going to be a top-secret until you arrive at the place
"will it now? well alright lead the way darling, I know whatever idea you have will be just as fun as any ideas I have. and we all know my ideas are super awesome!" he laughed at which you just roll your eyes and tell him that he is amazing no matter what he does
"aww thanks, and let me say. you are the most spectacular person ever, have I ever told you that?" he says his eyes full of love and happiness. you giggle and tell him he says it every day
"good just making sure you know for sure! now come on we have this wonderful date to get to! lets hit the road" you kiss your boyfriend's cheek one more time before leading him down the path away from the Casita and over towards the village. you turn back to see Dolores looking at the two of you waving. once you paid close attention you could see she was mouthing 'good luck'. chuckling you give her a thumbs up before bringing your attention back to your boyfriend. only to yourself, you think about how lucky you were to have such a wonderful partner, and hope that this date will be something that he enjoys just as much as you enjoy his company

Anyway just a heads up the next chapter or the one after that mayyy have a little angst seeing we need some more spicey plot! also again I thanked them last time but we all know they deserve a bunch of love so again thank you doraawasinnit!!
